Here is a quick video that I edited showing parts of a wheel cleaning I did back in May on a 2012 BMW 335i.  I used Sonax Full Effect Wheel cleaner on the wheels and calipers, Meguiars APC+ 4:1 on the wheel wells, suspension and tires.  This was part of a full correction on this BMW.

GROOVY MAN (only saying that because of the smooth music choice). Do you clean the rest of the body with the wheels off or put them back on and drop it down again?
