I bought myself an early graduation present for graduating nursing school this coming may. Really, only reason i bought a Denali and not a lower trim was because i found it almost 8k less than blue-book from a family owned and operated dealership just north of Fort Wayne, IN. In mid of the pictures, wait to see some late night vandalism that happened to my new car (still had the damn temp tags on) WHILE I WAS IN MY GARAGE. Ill spell out the story during the pictures.

Vehicle Specs:
Crew Cab AWD Air Ride, best of AWFUL black paint. Just wait until you see the rotary trails on this thing. Only has 39k miles on it too.

Products Used:
GG 6in DA
Megs Gold Class Car Shampoo
GG Waffle Weave Drying Towel
ZEP All purpose cleaner (tires)
Carpro PERL (tires)
Carpro Block
Carpro Swede Applicator Towel
5 in backing plate
5.5in Orange LC flat foam pad
5.5in White LC Flat foam pad
Optimum Clay Towel - Fine

m105
Optimum Gloss Coat
2 5 gallon home depot buckets

and MF Towels & Wash mitt

Before Pictures/Videos:

Videos up first. Notice the Buffer trails all over the tailgate. The entire car is like this.

More trails on passenger rear bed:

A "decent" part of the hood (compared to the rest of the truck) Pre Wash

Now what i like to call "the Brillo pad paint" after all washed up and clayed

Paint Correction: Used 2 step polish with m105 and m205
After 1st step:

Test "square" with both steps

Now the interesting stuff. The not so good story, but entertaining..

I work nightshift in the hospital, so my schedule reflects that.. It was 2:45am and im detailing my truck in my garage with the garage door open as it was a great night out. It was Saturday morning (so the cool kids must have been out that friday night into saturday morning), pretty quite in my suburban neighborhood. I notice a black pontiac grand prix GT roll by somewhat slow, dont think anything of it as the MPH is 25. Then, about 5 minutes later, it comes rolling by very slow so I stop my GG DA and hear 4 car doors. I thought great.. Im either gonna get jumped, i know them and they want to stop by, or im gonna get egged (which has happened 7 times to my previous 05 impala). As i think of the last option. 12 eggs total bumbard my garage. Imbeciles ran up my drive way to throw the eggs. I saw all 4 of them and then they run away, get into their little black GP GT and zoom away. Little xxxxxxxs throw like girls because of the 12 eggs, 1 hit my tailgate. Destroyed the paint. Here are some pictures. (Have a description of the car and licences plate.)

If anyone has been egged before. You know that the white markings in the picture above are permanent.

A few pictures of "non damage" even though they hit my house. AGAIN FROM LIKE 20ft AWAY. God i hope they dont play baseball..

yes i know that tree is dead.

it looks like they run up behind my neighbors newer 2014 2500 cummins laramie that he babies like i do my own vehicles.

My dad in the drive way (notice two eggs on the roof)

Sad story short, filed a police report, gave description of vehicle and plate # but the township wont do anything. About ~1k to repaint from an autobody quote.

Back to the BETTER stuff

Wheels/ Tires before / After

Polsihed up some watermarks and clayed off some spots. Need to get a nice chrome polish to use on the wheels for better results.

It looks like i Lost some images of the final result in the sun. Ill grab some pics next time i wash her up and post them in this post.

Last But not least: The water beading of Optimum gloss coat

Man that thing was hammered , great work.

As much as I enjoy working with the door open, I just don't 95% of the time because you never know who's watching and who could be looking for trouble like those punks in your neighborhood. I really hope they pay for what they did.

Wow sorry to hear about the eggs but great job!

Thanks! The eggs sure did put a damper on the detail... I was getting ready to do the second stage on the tailgate and finish up for the night so I could put the coating on in the morning and let it sit in the warmer temps before a second application. Needless to say, spirits were down (felt like a punch in the teeth after spending crazy money on new veneers or a complete new smile).

Thanks Migue! It stinks because seriously 5 minutes before it happened i contemplated going inside for the night (the tailgate was the last section to do before coating). Man, I wish i went in now.

Well, on the bright side it looks great. Nice work.

I'm at a loss on why the PD won't go after them...

Huge heroin problem coming about in my area. More focused on that apparently.

Also, they say its insufficient evidence (even tho there is another eye witness. They dont doubt me, just that hypothetically since there is no picture / video of wrong doing or other evidence stating THESE people actually did it, there is nothing they can do. Essentially, if they deny they did it, even though i have a plate and everything - I could have just made the scenario up to get it paid for...

Pretty stupid.

Nice work black that trashed is tough road to hoe, those douch bags need a good old fashion ass whopping maybe then they will understand respect of others people property.

.02 syas they spill the moment the police start to press.

I don't understand how eggs cause permanent damage to paint. Especially if washed off immediately?!

- Patrick

Two ways eggs can damage your paint are one the proteins microcellular composition start to degrade the paint and clear coat if left to dwell for an extended period of time. Not a problem if washed off in a timely manner.

The second part is where most damage comes from. It's not the contents of the egg but rather the shell. As it hits the surface the egg obviously breaks, but if you take it to a micro level, the egg shatters in very tiny pieces that actually chip away the paint at the point of impact.

Think of dropping a glass plate onto the ground in slow motion. It shatters into both large and small pieces. Imagine doing this on car paint, it will inevitably leave several large "paint chips". Now, back to the egg, imagine throwing an egg as hard as you can at a painted anything really, you will see the impact point.

What the hell.....you got egged while you where put in the garage? That's nuts. I'm any case, nice job on the truck

Time to invest in security cameras. I would file a complaint with your local politician and police chief. If you were egged while in your garage you can make a case for Assault not just property damage. If the police refuse to investigate that, well then, call the local news station and have them do a story on it. You will get some attention.

Get a spokeo membership, plug the plate number and you'll find who did it.

I don't normally think about repaying...But I'd recommend it for this.

That's a shame that happened to you. I had a friend that tried to mess with me while I was polishing in my garage around midnight one evening. He started banging on my garage a little at a time. Almost sounded like someone was trying to break in. So I went and grabbed my pistol and scared the mess out of him. He thought it was funny, I didn't.

I like your way of thinking. I would involve a paintball gun and eggs though. The paintball gun for them and the eggs for the car.
