So, I got my gear and product and I took on the challenge of detailing my first car, mine!

I would say it went so so at best. I need some better towels and some better technique with my DA.

My Paint now has much less "spider web" look but some micro marring from the M105 that the M205 didn’t take out. Kind of disappointed about that. Car looks 100 times better, still disappointed.

Here are the steps I took.

1. Washed with Megs Gold Class Wash

2. 205 w/ Megs Soft Buff 2.0 Polish pad – Still was leaving some deeper imperfections.

3. 105 w/ Megs Soft Buff 2.0 Polish pad – Got everything out, left micro marring

4. 205 w/ Megs Soft Buff 2.0 Finish pad

5. M21 w/ Megs Soft Buff 2.0 Finish pad

6. Waited 6 hours

7. M21 w/ Megs Soft Buff 2.0 Finish pad

whoa wait a second..

why did you go 205 THEN 105 THEN 205 Again?

try 105 on a more aggressive pad, then go again with 1-2 passes of 205 on a less aggressive pad.

but nice work regardless, dont get to frustrated, and if you do, take a step back, go inside and grab a drink and come back out and attack the paint again.

I started with M205 in hopes that a car this new would needs such correction M105 has. I quickly learned I was wrong. I think the 2 passes with M205 might be the key.

Wifey has a black Rx350 - love that Lexus paint - far far easier to work with and gives a better outcome than my bloody BMW black paint with factory orange peel. Nice job BTW

Ever heard of the phrase "least aggressive method first"? No sense going too aggressive if you don't have to ... save the CC thickness.

if you can make a black car look like a mirror like you can detail any car with no problems you did a great job because i speciallize in detailing black cars

Thank you all for the kind words.

Aside from going over the car twice with M205 to remove micro marring, any other suggestions.

I know the pictures I posted my look good, but it still not perfect and bugging the crap out of me.

Excelent work, perhaps I'll get to see the RX one of these days.

Whow, watch the condescending remarks.
