The rim of felt around the sunroof has always been a problem, because of accumulation of wax and SMR. Any tips on removing the buildup around it?

BTW I used Souveran for the first time and it outperforms the P21 that I thought was the best around. Thanks for the help

I use a soft toothbrush. Firstly with some shampoo, followed later when dry with another soft toothbrush. Works for me.

I am not sure if there is such a thing as a felt brush (?) but that would be perfect.

I'll give those methods a try. I thought I heard somewhere that simple green was corrosive on aluminum, true?.

Thanks

I have used aerosol brake parts cleaner on this for many years. The door trim on all old Jags is made out of the same stuff. Brake parts cleaner will not damage, stain or hurt paint or fabric.

Denatured alcohol will also work but is sometimes less effective on big wax buildups.

I was called in to save another car from the clutches of hackness. The onsite lot jockeys made three attempts to fix this car but made it worse everytime they touched it.

Inside after the wash.

Beautiful job Richie. You once again pulled a beauty from the jaws of the beast. The MB turned out great.:hurray:

Turned out nicely. Makes you wonder why some of these owners get sucked in a quick detailing job only to get their car looking less than desirable. Great job Richie
