2009 Acura TSX - Dark Blue

Well I finally got a chance to detail my parents' new TSX. They just got it a few weeks ago and it was the only dark blue one within 6 states (had to look hard to find one). Anyway it was a joy to detail.

This was an exterior only detail.

Process:

Wash with Dawn

Clay

Megs #80 w/ White LC 5.5" pad (PC Speed 6)

(test wiped a section with IPA wipedown to make sure no filling....we were good to go)

PoliSeal w/ White LC 5.5" pad (PC Speed 6)

Duragloss 105 w/ Blue Propel pad (PC Speed 3)

There were really weird swirl marks....almost looked like holograming and they were really light, but a TON of them. Easy to remove since they were so light.

The swirls were hard to capture on film but the whole car looked like that.

The mirrors were the worst and looked like they were hit with a scotchbrite. M80 + Poliseal did the trick on the lovely soft clear

We did the DG105 for durability but man......the Poliseal + DG105 made it look incredible too.....made it darker and wet looking.

Great detail. Beautiful car.

I'm still not sure how I feel about the intake. I figure the more I see it the more I'll like it, but I'd go for some sort of aftermarket item to "fix" the front end, but that's just my personal taste. LOVE the color and the rest of the car =)

Thanks guys. I agree about the grill. It's a little flash for my taste. I'm going to try and photoshop the grill 2 ways to show my dad. 1st way make the chrome horizontal piece body colored and leave the silver. The second way leave the chrome horizontal piece and make the silver surround piece body colored.

To be honest though, the flashy grill is kind of growing on me.
