I am going to estimate a customers 2 week old vehicle tomorrow. she parked under a tree and now has tree sap all over the car. BTW the car is a black 2008 SAAB SUV. I am not too concerned about removing the sap I have a few things in my arsenal. Does anyone have any tricks for tree sap that would make my profit margins even greater? (get the job done quicker). The dealer mentioned bug and tar remover...just looking to see what everyone else has tried.

I've used mineral spirits before with no (apparent) harm to paint, However, that was only a few small spots, not all over.
 
Megs also has some product called "body solvent", which is supposed to remove sap amongst other things. It might be citrus-based.
