how do i get the wax remnants off my side panels which are plastic... i tried using armor all and it helped a little but i can still see it... please help.:bounce

You guys aren't kidding?

The worst wax I've ever had for trim residue was Meguiar's Gold Class.

I rubbed and rubbed and finally ended up throwing an arsenal of distillates at it and eventually removed it.

Oddly enough, my Swix cross country ski wax remover worked best and then I put some "Back to Black?" on the trim and that helped.

I've never had this problem with #7 polish and the #26 Hi-Tech Yellow wax.



Peanut butter? I learned something today, if it's true.

Yes, the peanut oil removes the wax. Hard to believe, but it really does work.

The secret was let out about a month ago that the vegetable oil in peanut butter is what does the trick.

I have found that EF Hi will take the wax residue off trim also.

Try the peanut butter with an inexpensive micro fiber towel. I've tried all kinds of commercial vinyl cleaners, including laundry pre-soaks, etc with a jillion different detailing brushes and nothing has done the job the PBMF (hmmm.....PBMF, new kind of sandwich?) does. A lot of the commercial products looked great, but just until they dried out for a day or two. It seems they were more of a cover-up than a cleaner. The black vinyl trim on my '98 Cherokee still looks brand new a week after I used the PBMF (I tell ya, I like that new acronym) on it. I did do a quick masking tape job around the edges of the vinyl before cleaning it, as I had just Zaino'd the paint and also used a real cheapo MF towel and didn't want to risk the MF scratching the paint. Oh yeah, one last thing - tell the wife not to get the "extra crunchy".

Works much better than peanut butter. Or any other of the many products I've tried. Much easier to use. It will even restore damaged trim. You may need a second treatment in a few weeks if it is really bad. I supppose any other liquid vegetable oils would work.
