2007 mitsubishi outlander not so quick - quick job

It has been awhile since I have really posted any of my work even though I don`t do much and it is hard to figure out how to begin with this one. Vehicle is a 2007 Outlander that belongs to a friend of a friend. Him and his wife wanted to get it cleaned up before they sold it so I told them I`d take care of it. Unfortunately I price quoted this as a normal SUV quick detail (wash, decon, wax, vacuum and interior wipe down) before seeing it. I really hope I will learn from this mistake when scheduling future jobs. You will see from the pictures how thrashed this vehicle was and what I planned on about 4-5 hours (before I saw it) turned into more like 10 hours. Luckily he left it for a couple days to work on it and of course I ended up doing more work than I should have.

Interior
Vacuum w/ various brushes
OPC
1z cockpit premium
Tuff Stuff foaming cleaner
PC w/ 3” BP and LC Thin Wool pad

Tires
OPC w/ tuff shine tire brush
Dressed with CG Silk Shine

Wheels
Iron X
OPC
Tarminator
Wheel Woolie
Lug nut brush
Grout sponge
Protected with PB Wheel Sealant ( I really like the stuff but after using Hydro2 on wheels for so long this process was waaay too long)

Wash
OPC (whole car was heavily soiled)
Foamed with PB SS&S
Tarminator ( a ton of road tar and paint)
2BM wash w/ PB SS&S

Decon
Iron X
CG Extreme Slick Synthetic Detailer as clay lube
Megs clay

Paint
I did pick up some HD Speed to try out but with the amount of extra time put into this I opted to go the quicker route and used
PB Natty’s Blue Paste

Trim
OPC
PB Trim Restorer

Glass
PB Glass Cleaner

Engine Bay
Not sure why I did this but I couldn’t resist (forgot to take pictures but came out really good for how fast I did it)
OPC w/ various brushes and grout sponge
Sonus Trim & Motor Kote

Befores

Exterior when I got it

Somehow I made it to the end and kept my sanity. I think being able to post here is what kept me going just thinking (wait until they see this!). I am glad it is over though and I really hope I don`t get any more nightmare jobs, nor anyone else here but I know they are out there. Anyways, thanks for looking.

Matt !
Wow - what a difference you made !!!
That thing was very very dirty...
Did they have a CBC sticker on the bumper ? (Car BEATERS Club) :)

I know, it`s just a whole lot of LIFE in there that was never removed or organized... :)
Even great people do this - its what happens...

Sounds like you had to get very innovative to figure out many ways to knock this out without knocking yourself out... I am so proud of you !
You earned some more stripes today !

You killed it ! It looks like new compared to what you started with..

Thank you so much for going a few extra miles and then some for these friends of a friend...

Thanks Dan! There was a bumper sticker on the vehicle that I removed that may have been worse than a CBC bumper sticker :lol2: (I think you may be able to figure it out but I will leave that off of here).

Optimum power clean was the true hero here. Got rid of most of the nasty stuff with very little effort

HUGE difference !

Hope you charged accordingly.
Thanks Ron. Unfortunately I should have charged double what I did (never do a blind quote  )

Doesn`t even look like the same car.....that thing was trashed!!! Worst part about it...people who let their car get like that have no idea what you went through to get it looking so good...amazing work

What a great job. People like that should get their car taken away from them. I raised 3 boys and 3 girls and my car always looked top notch.

Holy smokes, man. I thought my Jeep`s interior was bad! !

Nice turn around. And yes, Autopia helps with getting through some things in life :)

I think about that every time I get a pretty beat up car. Of course this was the worst. I always wonder how people with cars like this would even attempt to go about cleaning it if they did try to do it themselves. Maybe then they would realize how much work goes into it. 90% of the time the one with the most beat cars are the least appreciative too when picking it up. At least the money is all the same though.

I feel the same way. My sister in laws car might be on par with this one or possibly worse. I already said a long time ago I would never clean it up for her though. She has a 1 year old son and his car seat in the back seat is basically wedged in between trash.

Thanks again everyone. The next car I have coming in I have already seen the inside and out and it`ll be so much easier.

Great work! That interior is the definition of trashed LOL! Literally...

10 hours isn`t bad at all for what you`ve accomplished. It`s like night and day.

Thanks! I am pretty slow at times and figured most people here could have knocked it out in like 4 hours haha

I`m slower. I spent roughly 3 hours and only did the rear hatch area behind the back seat of the Yaris. And that`s a small car! I did spend some time taking pics, going back and forth grabbing various products, towels, etc. But even then, maybe 2+ hours of actual cleaning.
