Initially, owner wanted "the works" on the interior and just my most basic Detail which is thorough wash/decon/hand applied sealant but she upgraded to a gloss enhancement service (HD Speed) with minor defect removal.
Products used:
Megs APC 4:1 & 10:1
3D orange Degreaser 4:1 for wheel wells
Megs Deep Crystal Shampoo since it was a first-time wash and via foam gun . I use the nicer stuff for maintenance jobs.
Griots Rubber Cleaner
Sonax Wheel Cleaner
Iron X gel
Optimum Ferrex
DP Rinseless 1:32 as clay sponge lube
HD Speed
HD Express
Megs D1569 (last minute decision since I had extra days with the car)
Poorboys vanilla air freshner
Stoners Invisible Glass
Poorboys Bold n bright liquid for tires
Tires cleaned with GG Rubber cleaner and tuf shine brush, rinsed, then 1 or 2 additional passes with Megs APC and a softer bristle brush to get more suds and ensure the suds were white and clean. Tried the Iron X paste on a few spots on the wheel, but the clear was too damaged and brake dust too embedded underneath, so the paste did not do that much of an improvement and wheels need refinishing regardless due to all the etching from previous washes .
Car washed using Mike Phillip`s Aggressive method. Rinsed thoroughly then started claying using nanoskin red sponge . Dried using sidekick and a WW towel then pulled in garage.
The car REALLY needs correction, it was covered in RIDS from the endless tunnel washes but the color does a pretty good job at hiding it. After a test spot with Speed on an LC Orange Pad,Flex 3401 speed 4-5 and 2 passes , I got right around 20-30% improvement (normally i get around 50% but this paint was pretty damaged) . I would have loved to do more passes but my business voice told my detailer voice "you`re getting the results you are advertising and are being paid for, so keep going and stop wasting time" and that`s what I did .
Interior received a thorough vacuum with various brushes (Mother`s tootbrush-style and a soft thick makeup brush for dusting console). Steam was used for the whole interior and the more stubborn blemishes were pre-treated with Folex/Apc then agitated, vacuumed and hit with steam again.
Wiper Cowl trim was thoroughly cleaned during the wash process` soap ,then APC and then prepper with rubbing alcohol before applying the Solution Finish. Having different style application tools helps in not having to worry about taping anything.
Removed HD Speed, topped with HD Xpress the next morning, then after a few hrs (since the car was not being picked up for another day) I did another walk around the vehicle and decided to hit the whole car with D156 to add more protection to trim, windows, ensure I got all spots from the Speed/Xpress, add even more slickness and gloss and because hey, it`s so stupid easy to apply that I actually get a satisfaction from doing it.
