2006 Audi A4… first taste of Menzerna!

After having this car for almost a year (purchased it CPO) I could no longer live with the scratches & swirls that had accumulated in the paint. I had applied Z1 and several layers of Z5 & Z2 back in September, but that was just a temporary fix. This paint needed correction. I tried to correct the paint using a PC on speed 6 with PoorBoys SSR 2.5 but after about an hour of work I realized it just wasn't cutting it -literally. Time to bring out the big guns!!

Menzerna Super Intensive Polish

and

Menzerna Micro Polish PO85RD

I have to once again thank a fellow forum member, “P1etâ€ for all of his help & the use of HIS machine & HIS products. Hopefully this post will make him proud…

Here's what I did:

1) Wash vehicle with high concentration of CG Citrus Wash & ShMitt

2) Dry with CG waffle weave towel

3) Clay entire paint surface with Clay Magic clay & lube

4) Wash vehicle with similar concentration of CG Citrus Wash & ShMitt

5) Dry vehicle completely

6) Attempt to polish with the PoorBoys SSR2.5

7) Polish w/ PC on speed 6 Using Orange Lake Country pad & SIP

8) Polish w/ PC on speed 6 using white Lake Country pad & Menzerna PO85RD

9) Remove any dusting w/clean MF towel

10) Apply Z-AIO (dried for about 45 minutes)

11) Apply Z-5 Pro (dried for about 1 hour)

12) Apply Z-2 Pro (dried for about 12 hours)

Here are some before pictures that show the high number of swirls and scratches in the paint.

Here are the after shots. Not the best lighting conditions.

Of course the day after I do all this work it rains!!

Oh well, here are some shots of water beading:

Please post any questions or comments. Thanks!

Damn DAMN! I saw you slave away on this thing for close to 15 hours and it shows! When the sun comes out, we will take some extra pics!

Again, stellar work. Hope you are sold on the Menzerna...

you can already see the improvement even without the sun. Great job. Just to let you know the picture you have on the top of the PO85RD is a bottle of PO106FF. It kind of confused me a little bit. Nevertheless, great job on the pain... nothing will cut into those Audi paints like the Ceramiclear system--dont you just love them???

I saw this car in real life and I assure you I have never seen a white vehicle look so wet and reflect so much. Gob-smacking job!!!

Looks GREAT! What's on the tires?

I used CG New Look Trim Gel

It's actually referred to as "BLACK FOREVER TRIM & TIRE,SHINE & PROTECT THAT KEEPS BLACK PARTS BLACK for MONTHS (16oz)" on their website.

It's a nice product that seems to last a long time. Very limited "fling" and it does enhance the true color of the plastic/rubber that it's applied to. It does not give the "wet" look that a lot of dressings aim for. I'm not big on that look, so this product is perfect for my taste.

Thanks to all for the positive feedback! Menzerna FTW!!

Incredible depth on white. Looks better than new. P1et scores lots of good karma for helping you out. Nice post, look forward to more pictures. :goodjob

How do you like SIP compared to SSR2.5? I just got my UDM with the PB line and I am thinking of ordering SIP. This 2.5 dusts like a mother. I believe I am using the right amount but it just keeps covering the rest of the car when I do one section, lol.

WOW! I like it a lot!

I will always love those cars! My cousin is the top audi salesmen in the country, so maybe he can get me a good deal... someday. :)

It doesn't even compare. You're right, SSR2.5 dusts like Tony Montana's bedroom. The problem Cody experienced was that the Poorboy was not putting a dent in the hard Audi clearcoat. He stepped up to SIP and it did the job beautifully, with hardly ANY dusting.
