2005 Toyota Highlander

Detail time!
Hello again.
I just finished up detailing a 2005 Toyota Highlander. Overall the truck was dirty, had moderate swirling but other than that it was in good shape. There were only 2 or 3 paint chips and no scratches. The interior was dirty but that was just loose gravel. This is the first time that I have worked on black in a long time and this reminded me how painful it is to work on it. But I guess in the end it was worth it :).

Process:
Wash
Clay
SSR 2.5- PC, polishing pad, speed 6
SSR 1- PC, polishing pad, speed 5-6
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant- PC, finishing pad, speed 3-4

Dirty but not too many swirls or damage

My new little (big) toy. A Craftsman 33 gallon 6HP air compressor to blow out water in the nicks and crannies of the car and also good for interior work too.

I am still impressed with the Wolfgang Sealant. What does everyone else think? Questions/comments?

Great job!.. I wanna here more about that air compressor.

It's awesome :lmfao. I guess it's actually only 2 HP, not sure why it has 6 on there but either way I love it. It's pretty expensive but I got it on sale and had a few gift cards to Sears so I got it for about $100 off:

Not only does it work great for the blow gun but it came with an air ratchet, air hammer and impact wrench and 25 foot hose as well. I bought a blow gun set to do the detail work:

Works great for door handles, headlights, grills, trim, etc. And for the interior it gets all of the dust from the vents and other cracks. I like it because I always hated the dreaded water drips and now thats gone :). Plus it isn't as bulky as a leaf blower and I can use it for other projects as well.

Having a black truck myself, I really feel for your work. I always listen to people talk about their times and wish I detail as quick but obviously it's not possible when you have almost twice as much area to cover.

It turned out really nice so good job!

Have you used a leaf blower? Would You say ti blows out water more efficiently than a leaf blower.

I hate the bulkiness of my leaf blower and I'm looking to add something to my garage.

I've used a leaf blower a few times along with the blowing part of my shop vac. The leaf blower is better for larger areas- like if you want to dry the whole car that way but the compressor/blowgun is great for the nooks and crannies where the water likes to hide. It is perfect in many ways IMO. It's easy to handle, small, efficient and does a great job. You can change the pressure of air that comes out if you'd like. I think I've been using it at 75PSI and thats plenty. If you are considering a compressor you don't need anything huge, as long as it has good pressure. I don't know too much about compressors but I do know that I'm happy :)

I would wanna get it for the nooks and crannies as well. Doors jams, emblems, lights, mirrors, ect.

Thanks for the help.
