Phew. First hired job. I really need to work on my speed. Unfortunately, since I was still sorting out some techniques and pressed for time, I wasn't able to take a good collection of WIP pictures. This was still a rather lengthy detail at 23 hours, but I took my time to do everything above and beyond, since it was a personal friend's car. Still better than my very first 35 hour detail. :buffing:

It was fun to get my friend's car looking beautiful. It always had so many swirls, it hurt. :(

Mixture of my shots and said friend's shots. I officially suck at taking before and after spots into the light. Any tips pros? All of my shots came out focused on the wrong damn stuff, even though they looked fine through the viewfinder.

I can has Swissvax? I can! I can't wait till I have enough money to upgrade to Concourso or Mystery.

C&C welcome, though be kind, I'm fluffy. Yes, I know I'm using a lot of Griot's stuff. I'm phasing almost all of it out.

Congratulations on your first detail job.

Very distinctive taste on the choice of bonnet and boot lid. Other than the brakes, bumper, and skirt the car resembles nothing of the STi. The exhaust muffler is simply too much for the base-looking Impreza.

He was definitely going for more of a sleeper look with the car. He's been thinking about changing to a more...subdued looking exhaust to help finish the look. This thing is putting down more than 425 WHP though, so nothing too restrictive. Probably going to paint the brakes a less distinctive color as well.

So does it have an intercooler in the front then? I hope so.

Yes, you can see it in the 7th picture :)

I'm liking the sleeper look and your hard work is making it all the better. Nicely done!

damn that makes me miss my subaru. Those cars are real quick and fun to drive. Nice work on the car . . . . . it's very clean and stealthy looking . . . . more or less a sleeper.

So, who took the shot of the Subaru in the drive way with the headlights pointing to the camera & the bead shot?

Those pics came out sick and i never understood how people could get the pictures to look that way.

Very nice work though and def. good taste when comes to your buddy and his modding of the car.

Love the Cusco lip and overall sleeper look. Great detail as well. When working with Subaru paint it should go quite fast. The soft paint corrects very easily. Most of the time 203 will correct and finish down great on Subie paint.

Great job again.

The only other thing that gives it away is the small rim above the rear tires which tie into the rear bumper (I cant remember what they are called but only the STi's have them). Great job on the detail! Where did you get your Swissvax interior brush? Detailers Domain?
