First up is a 2005 red Ferrari F430. Client just purchased it about a month ago. It had wash induced marring, swirls and a few RIDS.
I rinsed off the wheels with my pressure washer and sprayed on some P21S gel. Notice that the brakes/rotors look at little larger then the average large Ferrari brakes. The client had a 15" Brembo GT kit installed front and rear as he wanted to fill the space inside of the 19" wheels better. 8)
While the P21s wheel cleaning gel dwelled on the wheels, I foamed the car with 2oz of CGCWC and 1oz of Z7 car wash. Filled the rest of the 32oz bottle with water.
I then used AM red hot APC 1:6 on the tires and wells.
I rinsed off the foam from the paint and refoamed w/ the same soap mix as above. I then did a 2 bucket wash with a sheepskin wash mitt.
Next up was cleaning the wheels/calipers with a swissvax wheel brush and various other brushes and a MF mitt. I had to roll the car fwd to get the barrel areas blocked by the massive Brembo calipers.
Everything got rinsed down again with the pressure washer.
Leaving the car wet, I then clayed the paint and glass with Z6 and a new zaino claybar. The lower doors and areas behind the wheels had some tar:
I rinsed off the car again and dried it with a pakshak WW drying towel.
I checked the thickness of the paint/clear with my Defelsko Positest DFT Combo. I was getting readings from 5.9 on the rear quarter panels to 9.2 mills on the hood. One call to the Ferrari expert confirmed that this is normal on Ferrari paint. Thanks Pepe!
I started polishing with a light cut blue edge wool pad and some Presta 1500 polish with a flex 3403 rotary. This removed the marring and most of the swirls, but did nothing for the RIDS.
So I stepped up to a green edge wool pad with the P1500 polish on the 3403. This removed the swirls as well but needed a few applications to get the RIDS out. So I decided to stay with that combo.
I followed with 3Ms Ultrafina and the 3M blue foam 8" pad.
Upon reviewing my pics at home, I found that most of my defect pics did not turn out.
Here is the only one that turned out decent, I hope you can see that the hood still has the defects and the right side from fender does not:
Here is a closer pic of the right front fender:
After polishing the car, I foamed it again with 3oz of Zaino Z7 carwash and the rest of my 32oz bottle filled with water. I then did a 2 bucket wash to ensure that the polishing oils where removed. I dried the car with a pakshak WW drying towel.
I then applied 3x of Zaino Z5pro with 20% Z2pro mixed in w/ 4 drops of ZFX to the paint/glass. I followed up with some Z8.
Interior:
vac
IZ cockpit premium on the non-leather surfaces
Zaino Z9/10 on all leather surfaces.
IG on glass.
Engine compartment got a wipedown.
Sorry I did not get any interior pics. :grrr
Tires got Z-16 and wheels got ZAIO.
Finals:
