2005 Passat: MF D300 Paint correction and interior detail

This car belongs to a long time client of mine. It's his daily driver, it's never been hand washed by him, and it only see's touch-less or tunnel washes. It was last detailed by me in Dec '08....needless to say it was overdue for a clean up. ;)

Paint correction Process:

-D300 MF compound via PCXP 5" MF pads

-M205 via rotary and LC cyan foam pad

-Wet sanding was done with 3" disks 1000/2000/4000

Paint Protection:

-Blackfire Wet-Diamond

Interior Process:

-Carpets/mats cleaned with Folex and the LGM. Some areas pre-treated with 303 fabric cleaner

-Vinyl and dash cleaned with OPC and/or Einszitt Cockpit Premium

-Leather cleaned with OCP and Leather Masters

3" disk

Sanded down and feathered out

20110224-_MG_4231.jpg

Paint condition....swirls and lots of deep RIDS

Some 50/50 shots after the D300 only

Thanks for looking,

Looks great Chad. Two quick questions though. How long did that interior take you, and what the heck are the toggle switches for?

PS, the black really pops against that snowy background!

I'm guessing Nitrous or Subwoofer.....or blaster cannons.

incredible turn around! how many total hours? I always tell my clients either the rubber or the cloth, but not both mats at the same time, it's just silly.

Thanks guys!

I had a good 4-5 hours on the interior, but he' a good friend and I didn't mind taking the extra time. ;)

The switches control the front two TV monitors, one where the rear-view mirror would be and one where the head-unit would be. One switches the upper screen from DVD to rear camera, the other switches the lower screen from Nav to DVD. The rear headrest monitors play DVD full time I believe. :)

Pretty work! That specific model makes me cringe, had a client with a light blue one - looked worse inside than this one, and she thought a "detail" should cost about $35.00, I assuming your guy knows the value!

Wow. Wonderful work! It always amazes me how folks can live with an interior that filthy. Makes me wonder what their homes are like. Kudos on a job well done, and thanks for sharing the great pics.

Thanks again everyone! :)

Just out of curiosity though if you have the opti-coat did you use that to replenish the diminished clear?

If you're referring to the crazy girl scratches on the door, no. I didn't take that much clear off that I'd be worried about pre-mature failure (was within most manufactures recommendations of .3-.5mil). Had I really pushed it and brought the clear down to unsafe levels, then yes, I would have put Opti-Coat over it. ;)

Man that interior was disgusting. Tell your friend he is a pig. LOL Nice job getting that mess cleaned up and the paint looks primo!
