old mag wheels that have not been well-cleaned.

There was a layer of gunk on the wheel that i couldn't get rid of.

I've tired P21s Gel on my GF's bimmer wheels.. and it didn't get the brake dust specks off.. (10 months ago)

Klasse didn't either.. ( last month)

then i tired Nu-finsih on them.. (just now)

it looked as good as new..

maybe because Nu-finish is uses such strong chemicals ? ( it really smells)

I'm cleaning my wheels (in my living room in fact) :D

I used P21S before taking them in on the insides of the wheels (no cleany in 2 years yikes!) but needless to say it didn't do jack. I used some sorta wd40 product but it was specially formulated to creep into rusted parts and loosen them. They took off 95% of the caked on dust (that stuff's my new best friend). So after I oile it up and rubbed off most of the dust, I decided to try my new P21S to take all that grease/dust off and it' just laughed at me. The surfactants made the grease smear and stick! to the wheel. I had to break out more of the lubricant and wipe the rest off.

After that I used Pinnacle Paint Cleaning Lotion to do the rest. It worked awsome and then AIO and then SG.

Synth cleaner waxes like AIO and Nufinish work well at brake dust removal. (I also used some 3M finish restorer)

Actually so do the Turtle Wax Wipes. They're bigger than all of the other wipes products and they do leave some shine.

Well, I just bought a beater wagon to haul crap and dogs around in. A '90 Subaru Legacy L Wagon with 37,900 miles on it!! Paint was in good shape. I didnt feel like claying or waiting for the Zaino to dry in the 50 degree weather so I bought a bottle of NuFinish and went to work. Man that stuff stinks! It smells like Zaino z1 x 10! In any case, it did clean decently but I was hoping it would be a little more aggressive as it didnt really remove light swirls and did not make the paint feel REAL smooth, like after using a real paint cleaner or clay. Oh well, looks good enough! Maybe I'll take some pictures and post them, for the hell of it.

Oh yeah, one other thing. Tried to use some Meguiars QD on the wagon about 2 hours after putting the NuFinish on. On certain body panels, it smeared and left a haze.

hi solvent and hi abrasive....it has it's uses though......very durable too. My dad loves it on his boat. Too messy for me though, oh, and don't get it on your rubber trim.

I didn't want to waste my Zymol HD-cleanse on the wheels... so i tried the Nu-finish since it's way cheaper ! It did fine, the wheels are pretty smooth, although i still can't get rid of some of the really big dust specks near the inside of the wheel.

And i had to use Nu-finish on something, it's just sitting there.. and i only use it on my bath tub :)

Are you serious about using it on the bath tub? Since it isnt that slick, I wonder if it actually safe to use? Also, does it last long with all the soap scum and what not?

i only use it on the vertical walls of the bath tub.. ..

too bad my water has too much of the blueish stuff in it.. ( i don't know what it is. )

i think it's safe because i heard some other people using it there too..

I don't know what that blueish guck is ..

can anyone tell me ?

I wanna get a filter for the shower head.. since the problem comes back after while with using Nu-finish...

it's just my water..

Yell00ITR,

I used Meguiars QD when I only had Nu Finish as a base and it worked fine for me, but I had to buff it a good bit to get it all off, but it still worked fine for me.

Irvin,

Try some CLR. Could be lime deposit or some type of deposit in the piping. That looks scary. You should call a plumber and if they don't know, the city.

Looks like its just soap scum. Its blue because the soap you use is blue. Anything thats gets rid of soap scum will clean that up for ya...

Had the same problem, mine was green though.. (green bar of soap)

This is a detail I did this past weekend on a Silverstone 2005 Nissan 350Z 35th Anniversery. The client only wanted a one step correction. The car was heavily contaminated and hadn't been clay in a long time. I was also able to remove a nasty ink stain on the driver's seat.

Process:

Foam via foam gun with Mothers Soap
Wash via 2 bucket method and Poorboys Super Slick and Suds
Wheels cleaned with Meguiars All Wheel Cleaner
Tires cleaned with Amazing Roll Off 1:1
Clay with Meguiars Clay
Polish via Porter Cable 7424xp via Meguiars 9007 pad and 1Z Metallic Polish
LSP=1Z Glanz Wax
Wheels polished with Duragloss 501 and sealed with Zaino CS
Carpets cleaned with Zep Carpet Cleaner
Interior cleaned with Woolite and Water
Interior dressed with 1Z Tiefenpfleger and Meguiars #40
Leather dressed with Meguiars Leather
Tires dressed with Meguiars Enduarnce
Glass cleaned with Zep Glass

I just did a basic wipe down on the engine and dressed with 303.

Onto the pics.
