2005 Ford Mustang caught in camoflauge (PICS!!)...

Apparently my gilfriend was riding along a 2005 Mustang test vehicle this afternoon. She has seen the pics from my magazines (Autoweek, Car & Driver, Road & Track) and knows cars pretty well. She took some pictures with a disposable camera while riding along next to it, so I'm not expecting anything great.

I know there are plenty of pictures of the finished concept car, which are said to be very close to the productions model, but it is still kinda neat to know that they are cruisin around near me.

Pics will be up later tonight, hopefully (if not, tomorrow)......

Actually there are a lot of pics of the "production" car. There are several of them making the tour of the auto shows. It is pretty cool though that you saw one of the test vehicles.

Take a look at the following site, it is probably the largest repository for 2005 Mustang info and images.

Here is a pic I got from Stangnet a while back

The pre-production version is on display now at the Atlanta Auto Show. You can't get in it but you can get nice and close.

The pics look nice but the car is killer in person. Its a metallic red GT with red leather.

These were the only ones worth posting. Again, not a big deal seeing as how the production cars are at the car shows and what not, I wish there was a show near me.

Nevertheless, I still say it's pretty neat. I just wish I was with my girlfriend when she saw it. She said it had all kinds of sensors and it was wired up with a laptop and all kinds of gauges.

Anyway, have a nice day. :xyxthumbs

Yeah, I guess that's what they use on the test cars. I have seen it before in "Spy shot" in car magazines like Autoweek. I don't know what they think they're hiding. Wouldn't plain white be just fine, plus most people on the road probably wouldn't even realize it's anything special. With that paint it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Whatever.

That's a non-gt Mustang. That car or one like it has been making the rounds. I saw that car (or one like it)in Las Vegas about a month ago pulling out of the Claim Jumper parking lot. I think that Ford was parading it around on purpose to get people talking about it. They have already shown the production car at all of the car shows already. It's no longer a secret. Personally, I LOVE it.

The single exhaust with muffler all hanging doesn't look too sharp...

That is the V6 model, the one that brings in the bacon for Ford and allows them to build GTs and Cobras.

Here is the tail end of the GT model.

odd they didn't camo the rear

For the longest time they also wore a black bra and the rear, the front and the roof. Since there are many many pics floating around and the production vehicles are making the rounds at car shows there is really no need for that level of camo any more.

Ford has a pretty good page on the '05 Mustang with lots of photos and a couple of videos.

Check out the Trilogy video featuring the Mustang, the GT and the Cobra concept.

If there's one thing I don't like about the new Mustang is the distance between the ground and the bottom of the rear bumper. When I saw it in person, that was the first thing that I noticed. It makes the rear of the car look very tall.

They are probably doing that because they know the aftermarket companies will be all over it like white on rice. If you don't leave something for Saleen and Steeda to build on then you will have some very unhappy campers. I can't wait to see the '05 Saleen versions....

I am going to be in line to get one for sure. Selling the '69 will be the hard part, but I am sold on the new one
