I know that I've talked way too much about my corvette here at Autopia but I've never actually shown it. Well, I finally took it out the other day and snapped this picture. So here's my 2005 C6 that you've heard so much about.

Patrick,

The beast is looking awesome!

I have been waiting for you to post up some pictures

What did you use on it last time it was detailed?

Rick, right now the car is split down the middle with Souveran over RMG on one side and Zaino on the other. The side your looking at is all Zaino. No, it is not a Z06 badge. I wouldn't dream of being that disrespectful. Ordinarily, I wouldn't put anything on the finish but the side of the C6 kinda needs a little something and I felt this added a tasteful touch. As you can tell that is a Z06 rear spoiler but I thought that looked better than than original flat one. Just a couple of subtle personal mods that make it stand out just a bit.

Doug, quick let's put them back in the garage before they get so dusty that we have to wash them again. Unfortunately, that is the reality of owning a black car as you well know. :grinno:

^^^^ You are absolutely right Patrick!

There is no way I could ever own a black car. It would drive me absolutely crazy trying to keep the dust off it :hairpull

I detailed an 07' black Z06 the other day and it was covered in dust just from driving not even 2 miles down the road to the customers house. I don't know how you do it.

Just wait until pollen season is here!!! :wall :D

Rick, I work a lot of hours so my car stays in the garage all the time. It's a good thing that I enjoy polishing, washing and waxing because it seems that's all I do to it. In fact, I would estimate that I spend 98% of my time maintaining the finish and 2% driving it. Over the last week or so, I have been contemplating moving up to a yellow or titanium Ferrari 360. But I'm not sure I would enjoy the ride. I don't want race car sensitivity like driving a go kart. That seems like it would get old real fast. I also don't want to take a MAJOR depreciation hit like my friend with the E-63 AMG. That's why I considered the Ferrari. You've driven MANY exotics. If you had 100k to spend, what would you buy?

Patrick,

Allthough there is no other car like a Ferrari, I am still a Corvette guy. There is nothing like the raw power that you get from an American muscle car in my opinion. A Ferrari is just too refined for me. I love that you have the option to lay down a huge patch of rubber in a Corvette if you want to and the car absolutely loves it and it is almost impossible to break.

Ferrari's are great cars, but are just too overpriced for what you get. They require a service about every 5K miles or so, which costs somewhere around $5,000. I think that's absolutely crazy, not to mention that you really can't drive it that much because they are so mileage sensitive. 20,000 miles on a Ferrari is like having 100,000 miles on a Corvette.

I have driven just about every kind of car imagineable (within reason) and think that the new style Z06's are the biggest bang-for-the-buck by far. I think it's sad that a $75,000 Corvette will spank a $200,000+ Ferrari in a race. Not that you are going to be racing or anything, but I just think you get a lot more for your money with a Corvette. Maybe I'm just saying that because I can't afford a Ferrari, but there is nothing like a Corvette IMO. I am only 29 and already on my 4th Corvette.

If you are really thinking about buying a Ferrari, I will put you in touch with my friend and he can tell you a little more about the differences and give you his opinion. He is very knowledgeable and knows just about everything having to do with cars.

Ferrari's are pretty sexy though :)
