2004 Jaguar X-Type

I detailed a 2004 Jag X-Type that took 12 hours total to complete. The car wasn't in too bad of shape, except for the hood, and around the wheel wells which were peppered with rock chips. There were a few deep RIDS, some of which the owner tried to touch up with paint; which could have been easily wet sanded out. The owner didn't want to spend alot of money, but wanted a majority of the scratches and swirls out, so we settled on the two step correction with wax treatment. The paint readings I got were very healthy which would have allowed for some wet sanding and removal of some of the deeper RIDS, but the owner didn't want to go to that extent. Anyway, here is a summary and some pics...enjoy...

Process:

Foam pre-soak with a foam gun and P21S

Two bucket wash with P21S

Pinnacle Clay with P21S as lubricant

Tar removed with Tarminator

Re-Wash with Two bucket wash and P21S

Wheels cleaned with Detail King's Brake up

Tires cleaned with Black Magic foaming tire cleaner

After some trial and error I found a combination that worked very well. The paint seemed to be very soft, so here is what I used.

M105 with LC Orange on PC first set at speed 2, bumped up to speed 6 and then jeweled on speed 4

Wipe down with IPA between steps

Menzerna 85RD with LC White on PC first set at speed 2, bumped up to speed 6 and then jeweled on speed 4

Two bucket wash to remove any residue

DoDo Juice Double Wax. Hard wax applied and removed.

Wheels polished with AllBright Metal Polish

Dodo Juice soft wax applied 6 hours later

Wheels treated with Detail King Super Blue Tire Dressing.

All exterior vinyl surfaces treated with Leatherique vinyl/rubber black

Interior:

Vacuum

Tornador w/ solution to clean all surfaces

All carpeting and floor mats pre-treated with Bio Enzyme cleaner and then pre-treated again with Folex

Carpets scrubbed with ZEP carpet cleaner

Floor mats pressure washed and interior carpets were extracted with Mytee HP60. The mats were then vacuumed with the Mytee.

All leather surfaces were cleaned and treated with Lexol cleaner/conditioner

All interior vinyl surfaces treated with Black Magic matte finish vinyl/plastic conditioner.

All windows cleaned with Stoner Foaming Glass Cleaner and MF

Engine:
