2003 Subaru Impreza STI -Correction detail (Sticky paint)

Hi all!

The paint was a nightmare to work with it, because some black japan cars have weird paint that reacts differently to the polishes.I'd started out with the rotary, but the polish just clumped up and welded itself to the paint.I settled for the Menzerna IP/orange lc pads on a Flex DA.But all the same polishes welded themselves to the paint and made it a real pain to buff off.

After about 25 hours I finally got it done.

3 step paint correction :

Menzerna IP PO91/Orange LC pads

Menzerna 106FA/White LC pads

3M Ultrafina/Black LC pads

Last Step - Lusso Oro paste wax

Damn that thing was hammered. I had a chance to play with Subie paint two years ago, what a pain. Patience was the only thing that helped and working in very small sections. You did a really good job.

The flake really pops in the after shots, very nice!

I've run into that sticky paint issue with Hondas a few times, seems like everything you try welds itself to the paint. Found that polishes with a lot of oils (like Meguiars 80 series polishes) work well to break up whatever surface film there is that makes it sticky.

Thank you Scottwax for the compliment!

Just the thought of correcting a black subaru makes me cringe these days, that if STUNNING work!

Very well done, car looks perfect from every angle in the sun!

So beautiful!!! Here in the U.S., that color, Java Black Pearl, was only offered in one year. My friend has one, and even after he got a basic detailed, those flakes really come out. It looks even more amazing at night!

just beautiful work... and yes Subaru paint sucks... it's very thin, but it came out great! Let's hope the owner keeps it that way for a while!

Thank you Guitarist302008!
