2003 Porsche 996 Turbo Coupe 6MT

No match for our roller coaster weather here in the North East, I had the pleasure to work on this gorgeous example of a 996 Turbo in a climate controlled garage :). Set at 60* for the day, working in a t-shirt made me feel a bit spoiled.

This 996 had such a great list of options and combos - Silver on black, carbon fiber everywhere, suede headliner, Fiske wheels. Such a great looking car. Overall, the condition was very good. I had the time to spend on this one to make everything perfecto. This included polishing the interior windows, seatbelts, gauges, cleaning jams to surgical standards, and making sure those ever-gorgeous Fiske wheels look as if they were just forged. The wheels alone took about 30 minutes each from washing, polishing with my fingers, sealing, and final detailing.

For the interior, my finals were:

-Folex to spot treat carpets

-Zaino Z9 to clean leather

-Zaino Z10 to condition leather

-Zaino Z-AIO to polish carbon fiber, seatbelts, gauges, windows, mirrors

-Zaino Z8 in jams

For the engine, my finals were:

-Poorboy's S+W to clean

-CG VRT cut 2:1 to condition/protect

-Zaino Z8 final wipedown

-GR-40 to clean lower aero pieces, plastic grills, window trim, license plate frame, and rear bumper stops

-Menzerna PO106FF + Clearkote Red Moose Machine Glaze (60:40) via PC and LC CCS Green Polishing Pad @6 on paint, lighting

-Zaino Z-AIO to polish wheels, exhaust

-Zaino ClearSeal on wheels, exhaust

awesome job car looks show room ready

did the zaio remove any swirls or any blemishes in the CF? I have some marks on my wood grain but am afraid to use abrasisves on it.

cant wait for the 430 detail my fav car going'

LOVE that house, damn its tough being a gangsta :-)

Stunning work Sean. I can't wait to see the detail on the "red beast".

The working environment doesn't look too shabby either. 60 inside....makes me envious on my job today trying to get a car inside as its sleeting...:xyxthumbs

Thanks everyone.

Justin: Bedford Corners. Nice area .

Diesel: Nope, just brightened and removed residue. I'd mix a little ZPC with AIO and give 'er a try.

Kenney: Nope, just a QD wipedown; never a problem. Always use gloves with GR-40, it leaves a residue on your hands.

Gorgeous job on a gorgeous car Sean! I've done that color on the same type of Porsche and it seemed hard as nails to correct. Would you agree?

ONE DAY! One day I will be able to do what you do whenever I want.

I've been following your work for a long time, way back when you would regularly post @ DC too! You do awesome work.

...Lucky SOB! :angry J/k...

Looks amazing Sean!! Nice collection for you to perfect...

After polishing, did you apply any LSP besides the wipedown?

Thanks everyone.

Ciro: This one just had light swirls. I polished the fender with PO106FF only at first, just to make sure I was removing the swirls, not just filling a bit with RMG. I think mixed the 106 and RMG on the panel and buffed the rest. I checked each panel carefully with the halogens and had to go back to a couple areas; mainly those around the door panels.

Todd: Zymol Glasur, read slower :D.
