2003 Mini Cooper, British Racing Green

Don't know if you guys remember, but I posted a story a few days ago about a compliment I received from a Body Shop manager about the care and condition of my Girlfriend's Mini Cooper. I promised some pictures so here they are! Judge easily! I'm a fairly new enthusiast!

Since getting it back from the body shop last week, I have just washed with ONR, glazed with RMG, and finished with P21S wax. There wasn't any correction to do, because I had just polished with Optimum Polish and Finished with Poli-Seal before we dropped it off at the shop. As I said in the earlier post, the shop didn't touch anything but the Front Bumper, which was replaced. These pictures were taken just after the second coat of P21S this morning. (Of course, I only glazed the new paint...no wax yet.)

:xyxthumbs Looks great! Nice work, love that green and white combo.

PC.

off topic rant – please feel free to ignore – I Love the color but I wish they’d call it emerald green or forest green or something more appropriate. No British car ever raced in any color even close to that “back in the day when teams raced in national colors.

Yeah, Mini is known for amping up the "This is REALLY a British Car, you silly, plebeian Americans" sentiment. For instance, her hood latch is on the passenger side, something which is listed in the 2003 literature as being a holdover from the right-hand drive car...like no other car is built right hand! They could have just as easily put the hood latch on the driver's side like every other car that crosses the Atlantic. That said, we both feel that the "British Racing Green" with the white roof looked the most "British" of all the colors! (We're both still a little easily duped into false nostalgia, I guess!)

Thanks for checking it out!
