So I am in the process of practicing on cars that don`t belong to family or friend before I go at this as a weekend money maker. I am trying to nail down a process and make sure that when I leave my house I have everything. Well, I forgot my camera. Lucky for me the kind fellow who owns this car happily brought his camera out to take some pics. Because I was on a time crunch, we didn`t really get any good shots of the exterior before. This all took place on Sunday (7/12/09).

My process was:

Engine bay:

-Diluted simple green in pressure sprayer to soak engine bay

-hand scrub with assorment of brushes and towels

-Polished metal with DWG metal polish

-Hit painted metal with Klasse AIO

-Dressed hoses and such with 303

-(note for future: should have brought high temp spray paint for the exhaust manifold covers)

Exterior:

-pressure rinse

-ONR wash (Viking MF mitt)

-Clay (Meg`s mild wth ONR as QD lube)

Paint was pretty oxidized and had a heavy layer of fine fallout/contamination with some sap. The clay took the paint further than I thought. I am still brand new to my PC, but this brave soul let me go to town.

I started with P&S medium cut on Uber flat green pad. Looked better, but I could only spend a few hours on this ride so I will come back with a heavier cut and Uber flat orange pads .

We finished off with KAIO on black pad (next time I will use KAIO on green), then topped with Megs NXT.

Pics aren`t that great as I am in need of some photo practice as well.

HERE YA GO!
