2003 50th Anniversary Corvette - One-Step and Sealant

So the owner just purchased this car a week before he brought it to me. I had not done a pre inspection of the vehicle like I normally do due to our schedules not allowing it, so I was not sure what I would be getting. Needless to say when I saw the condition of the car I was pretty surprised, as most of these are in pretty good shape. The car was covered in swirls, lots of RIDS and plenty of holograms from a previous detailer or dealer I would assume. In previous discussions with the client he just wanted it cleaned up pretty good for the time being, and said he would bring it back this winter for more extensive work.

Here is a video I shot after being washed showing the condition of the finish.

Another video I shot after completing the car.

Now for a few picture of the vehicle.

Wash Process

This is a picture before I started the wash/decon process.

The car was foamed to begin the process like usual.

The foam pre-soak with followed up with a 2BM method wash.

After the 2BM wash and being treated with Iron-X and thoroughly rinsed, the car was washed one final time with a Nanoskin Mitt.

Paint Condition After Wash

As you can see the paint was in rather poor condition, lots of swirls, rids and holograms.

The entire car looked this way.

Correction Process

This was my first test spot, which was Hyper Polish on an Orange LC Flat pad. The results looked pretty good however there were still a lot of RIDS left in the surface. I ended up finishing the vehicle with FG400 on Megs MF pads.

Thanks for taking a look.

Nice job !!!!!!!!!
Thanks, the client was very happy with it. There is still room for improvement when it comes back later this year

Gleaming!
This color is awesome in the sun!

Well done! The way the car SHOULD look!
Yeah this car has certainly seen better days. The previous owner certainly didn't baby it the way the new owner will.

Maybe some Menerza CL on top :)

Excellent ride and looks B)
I am not a big wax guy, and honestly I would say that Hydr02 is hard to beat when it comes to application, looks, & durability when it comes to none coating jobs. This car will be coming back later this year to get a bit more out of the finish and apply a coating.
