Got various pics from the 2002 Concours d'Elegance this year. Jaguar was the featured marque and Jag even brought some rare and expensive cars in.

First up.....Jaguar D-Type

Jag D-Type

Not sure what model this Jag is. It's toally un-restored and was brought to the event by Jag......in a trailer of course. ;)

My favorite of the show, a 1959 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud I. Amazing restoration, this car could have easily won best in class.

It's an XKSS, a short nosed D-Type tamed for civilian use. It was a street version of the race car that was in production in 1955 (I think) but tragedy struck and there was a great Coventry factory fire and all the pressings and machines were destroyed so the cars were never to be produced again. They are very rare.

I drove one once. Pretty cool. Noisy as heck!

Thanks for the info Brad. I figured it was pretty rare, the car is owned by Jaguar. The D-type was sitting right next to it, they also had a XJ220.

those pics are horrendus to view, you must download them and open another program to view them. It took me 30 seconds to view 1 pic lol. I think you should do jpg next time.

That Phantom V Limo brings back some memories. Do you remember over a year or so ago, I had a 1966 version for sale after I had completed a full restoration & detail job. Its still in the archive section. Shame I sold it, but the money was sure handy.

That one you saw looks terriffic. Really nice to see one still looking crisp than ever.

The attachments were all saved as .bmp . . . bitmaps are an uncompressed format that take up an ungodly amount of space. The first attachment alone was over 1.5 MB!

I downloaded all the pics, resized them to a max of 512 x 512, and saved them as .jpgs. I then tried to change the attachments on the posts, but the forum software still pointed to the old pics. So, I just uploaded the pics to my ISP account and am hosting them there for the time being (you should see the images interleaved in the thread now instead of attachment links).

In the future, please do not upload bitmaps as attachments; try to convert them to .jpg first. A 1.5 MB bitmap equates to less than 100 K as .jpg with reasonable compression. After resizing the pics to a forum-friendly resolution, the average size of the was just about 25 K each.
