I have a new car! :D

It is a 2001 740i Sport with Titanium Silver paint and Grey Leather interior. The car was soooo clean when I got it that I had very little to do. Here is what I did.

1. Wash with QEW.

2. Clay with Griots clay and Meguiar's Final Detail.

3. Polish with PC using polishing pad and Meg's Swirl Free Polish.

4. Apply P21S wax by hand.

Those are my former wheels with Poor Boy's Bold 'N Bright on the tires.

It was a pretty cloudy day and it does not show the full beauty of the paint.

Here are a couple of pics-

You got rid of the black one  ?!?!?! There's the end of an era!

The new one's a beaut though, I love the styling of the 99-01 7 series. I think one of its best colors is silver ;)

GoodnClean,

I agree about the titanium silver on the 99-01 7 series. I am still trying to find the 'perfect shine' on my new 7! :D At this point I was just trying to put some protecton on the car.

I will be experimenting with AIO topped with P21S while I am waiting for Meg's NXT! If I have more time, I will also try the Vanilla Moose topped with P21S as well.

Nice upgrade! Gotta love those sport seats, sport steering wheel, widescreen nav, Steptronic, shorter axle ratio...

:up

Any plans for a 6-speed manual conversion? ;)

BW,

No plans for a 6 speed manual conversion. This car is too fast as it is! I was taking it out for one of it's first outings and before I knew it, I was doing 110+ on the frwy! :shocked

I found a very, very clean car with only 20K miles on it, and as you said, with the widescreen nav to boot! :D

I really love the new ride!

AMP-Vanilla Moose and S100 will make a nice combination on that color. That color looks amazingly wet when you use the right combination of products and proper technique...something you don't have a problem achieving. ;)

I detailed one that was very similar to yours and have a shot of the hood on my home page. If I remember right, I used Vanilla Moose and Final Polish on it.

I'm going to miss seeing pictures of that beautiful black 7 you had (you did get rid of it, right?) Whoever buys it will be a lucky person!

Congrats on the new 7! TiSilver is really nice! Very nice!!!

BTW, I noticed it's not an "iL" Do you miss the longer wheelbase?

C-MDX,

I am a Bimmer Lover! :D I just don't like the 2002 or newer 7 series- :scared As a matter of fack, my wife is getting a 2004 X5 4.4 with valvetronic, sport package, etc., this week. :xyxthumbs

tkr128,

Yes I did trade my black 740iL in for this 740i Sport. I am going to miss the black car! There is nothing like a black car when it is fully detailed! As of now, I do not miss the long wheel base of the iL. Even though I changed the suspension on the black iL, it cannot compare to the M-Technic suspension of the new 740i Sport! It is just awsome - still smooth but it handles soooo much better!

BoxsterCharlie,

I agree with you about Mr. Bangle! :nono This is the main reason that I went out to seek a clean 2001 7 series with low miles.

andriver,

I agree with you about the 7 series, (E38, 1995 through 2001). I think this car is a classic, especially the Sport model!

Amp, smart man! Many people are suddenly scrambling to get their hands on E39s after witnessing the recently-released E60 in person.

Very nice! Keep it alive through the Chris Bangle winter! :)

:up I hear that. I LOVE the E38. :bow AMP, you now own the most beautiful BMW ever made, IMO. That color and wheel combination is my favorite.

Hey, that car looks mint! So, you kept the wheels from your '99? Or you swapped them from it? Or this car just has the same kind? I'm not sure I followed what you meant by that.

Amp - Great car!! Many happy and safe miles to you. BTW Just got an X5 a couple weeks ago to add to the fleet - Your wife will love it.

Regards, LowTech
