2001 BMW M3. I had looked at this car in the summer, the owner's brother for some reason applied white plasti-dip to the whole car. Originally he wanted all the remaining plasti-dip removed and the car fully detailed. I don't know if the price was too high but I didn't hear from him again until a few days ago. He was able to remove about 99% of the plasti-dip, plans to replace the few trim pieces he can't get it off of. He was looking for a basic exterior detail so the car would be protected for the winter.

Not sure what got all over the rear fenders but it took a combination of aggressive (purple) clay and polishing to remove. Whatever it was, the color was black. Other than that, it was a pretty straight forward polish and seal job. The exhaust tips were pretty bad. Able to get the outside of them polished up nicely, the inner areas of the tips, wasn't even making any improvement. The car could use a hard correction but there are issues with the paint, like a repainted hood that has some fisheyes and other defects in it, random RIDS that go into the primer. A good two step job the next time would probably be enough to bring the paint to its full potential.

ONR wash, Optimum nano-skin to clay, Meguiars Purple (aggressive) clay on the rear fenders

Meguiars #105 using a 5" Meguiars microfiber cutting disc and PC 7424 XP to remove the aggressive clay marring on the rear fenders

Optimum Hyper Polish using an Optimum microfiber cutting pad and PC on the whole car

Optimum Opti-Seal to protect

Optimum Metal Polish on the exhaust tips

Armor All on tires/fenderwells

ONR wash and wax diluted 32:1 to clean the glass

2009 Audi A4. Owner contacted me about a month ago, between the traveling he does and the holidays, we weren't able to get it scheduled until just recently. Overall it was in really good shape, especially considering he puts a lot of miles on it. Lives out in a country area, drives to Houston regularly. There are some bug etching and chip issues is the front bumper and edge of the hood that at some point will require refinishing to alleviate but the rest of the car was pretty nice. This detail was more focuses on interior cleaning and paint protection. Owner is considering a correction and Opti-Coat in the spring. The paint was pretty soft, but thankfully not as soft as the Q5 I did recently.

ONR wash, Optimum nano-skin to clay

ONR and pre-treating with Optimum Power Clean cut 3:1 to clean the wheels

3D HD Polish using an Optimum microfiber polishing pad and my PC

Collinite 476 Paste Wax

Armor All on tires/fenderwells

"owner's brother for some reason applied white plasti-dip to the whole car."

Seriously... that is something I thought I would never hear?! Who does that? :noidea:

Great looking car all cleaned up!

Just for fun I googled white plastidip M3... Apparently more than one person has done this. this is a video of a 2010 M3.

Guess if I was racing it I might do this to save the paint?

His brother is the same one who decided to use $2000 to buy a Mitsubishi Galant instead of an older Accord or Camry. Who does that? :noidea:

Great job guy's! Audi looks great for a road hog! Plastidip, still amazes me why people do this? If you want to protect your car that much, don't drive it! Or better yet clear bra it. At that way you can enjoy the color and not the rattle can finish!
