Hello all, I'm new to this site, and new to detailing in general. I used to own a 2000 Honda Civic Si, but it wasn't driven very much and I live close to work and campus so it never really got in bad condition. I recently acquired (in February) my neighbor's 2001 6 speed BMW 540 and the paint is in less than stellar condition. Pretty bad water spots and swirls all around. There are also lots of scratches on it and chips on the front bumper.

So far I've only used Meguiars clay bar, swirl remover, polish and wax. I have no porter cable... I know I know... I should get one. However, I'm pretty pro at screwing stuff up when it comes to stuff like this, so I'd prefer not to destroy my paint with an auto polisher. I'll be looking for a detailer near me here soon, and one of your members who I know via another messageboard directed me here. I currently reside in Boone, NC and go to Appalachian State. But I am from the Raleigh area and my parents still live there. I'll be looking for professional detailers in both places.

I figured I'd go ahead and throw up some pics as well as make a pseudo introductory post. It has the M62 4.4 liter V8 and a few Dinan goodies, as well as M sport package suspension, brakes and Getrag ZF S6S 420G transmission (lol shift travel). Its so enjoyable, its worth the 13 mpg city. haha It gobbles up asphalt in a hurry and barks and growls out the Dinan exhaust.

I enjoy photography, but I have a crappy camera. Anyway, here are some pics!
