I wanted to post this write up since it was one of my most extreme. This truck belongs to one of my good friends. He had it polished once before and I can recall seeing the buffer trails and holograms. I guess after some time of not waxing it or polishing it the oxidation covered up most of the defects. Interior was just wiped down & vaccumed

-Washed with Megs Gold Class

-Clayed

- Megs #83 on Wool Pad

- Megs #105 on #8006 polishing pad

- Megs #105 on #9006 polishing pad

- Waxed with NXT

- Hyperdressing on Tires & wheel wells

Here is the before

I expected there to be swirls & scratches but with the condition of the paint before polishing it was hard to tell until I gave it the first pass.

A couple more passes and it began looking a little better.

Here is a half polished tailgate. I tried several combinations of polish before I was able to dial in what worked for me.

BEFORE

AFTER

I tried several combinations of polish & pads. I even tried M-105 which didn't do much for me but it did work great as a finishing polish. When I delivered the truck to the customer he had company over and when they all came out to see the end result they were amazed. They literally thought the truck was repainted which made me feel good and well worth the 13 hours spent on the paint.

great turn around. i thought the truck was blue at first!! and that tail gate pic looks like you color sanded it. very dramatic 50/50

Thanks alot advs1. No color sanding. I'm just happy the paint cooperated with the products used. I couldn't stop staring at this shot after I was done I was amazed myself. Hey I see you're in Whittier not far from me at all.

Wow nice turnaround!

How do you like that Hyperdressing for tires?

Thanks. I like hyperdressing. The tires seem to soak it up nicely giving it a nice dark look. Nothing glossy. I use it on my cars since it's easy to clean off as well. It won't leave the tires gummy. If I don't use HD on the tires I usually use All Season Dressing also from Meguiars. It lasts a little longer and shines up the tires just a little more.
