If I hire a detailer to come out , and wash my love. He says I have 6 gallons of water. ??? Are you going to do my door jambs, trunk jamb, engine bay, wheels, and wash the car with enough water left over if you need to cut chemicals, or use on the interior ? This 2 bucket method is stright garbage. I wouldnt do my worst enemies bigwheel this way !

I use a 3 bucket method.

1. I rinse the car completely

2. I wash the tires wheels, wheel wells and lower parts of the car with an APC solution and a tire brush, wheel brush and sponge. ( this is bucket nr 1)

3. I rinse the areas just washed, and the entire car again.

4. I wash the body of the car starting from the top and usually on the right side with bucket nr 2(with the wash solution) I usually wash the tail and front at this stage also. Rinsing the mitt with the hose now and then, depending on how dirty the car is. Rinse that side completely.

5. Wash the other side of the car(usually the left), using my 3rd bucket of wash solution. again rinsing the mitt when I feel it's dirty.

6. Rinse the whole car, take off the nozzle and try to flood the water left so it's easier to dry.

7. Dry with a WW MF and a QD. Tires, wheels, lower parts and door jambs get dried with a different towel.

8. I usually putt AW on the wheels.

California Love: your mind would explode if you watched an ONR wash, LOL

Two buckets have nothing to do with a prerinse or final rinse. It is a means of minimizing wash induces marring by rinsing the wash media in the clean water bucket (with gritguard) prior to each dip into the soap bucket and pass over the paint. Like the others stated, there's plenty of posts about techniques...just search first and they won't make fun of you.

Clearly you have not used Optimum no rinse. People sometimes use just one bucket to clean a car with this system. I would not be so quick to judge as I would never clean my car the traditional way again after using this method. I would call him up and book the appt. Best of luck to you, and keeping your car clean. BTW if you have taken the time to post this, you need to do some reading on what is available for your vehicle's needs.
