2 black vehicles from 2 different dealers. Both hammered. Denali, LX570

I had 2 vehicles this week that were purchased from different dealers and different times from different clients. First up was a GMC Sierra Denali


This truck was a favor as he is my chassis guy/welder and will be doing my chromoly 10 point roll cage in another week or so.


Wash/Decon- Hyper wash, Megs Iron Decon, Nanoskin fine towel


Wheels/tires- Mckees foaming wheel cleaner gel, LATA, Hyper dressing, Coated in IGL Eclipse


Correction- G21, B/S Uro Wool, M100. 3D One, B/S yellow pad


Trim- Coated in IGL Eclipse

Next up was this 2016 Lexus LX570 with black tinted clear coat.


Wash/Decon- Rinsless wash with Wipeout, Nanoskin fine towel


Wheels/Tires- Mckees foaming wheel cleaner gel, LATA, Hyper dressing


Correction- G21, 3D ONE to cut with Boss Microfiber pad, Then switched right to a black finishing pad with 3D ONE to finish

Awesome transformation! I have never seen a black tinted clear, does it impart a black residue on the pads? Did you perform interior details as well, or only when you coat leather etc...

Yes it leaves a little bit of black residue on the pad. Not as much as a single stage paint job. Both got quick interior clean ups. Nothing major.


Were those two cars new?

No definitely not. Both were a few years old.
 
The Denali looked like someone tried to make it look better by hitting it with a dry wool pad on a rotary! Nice work bringing them back!
 
Nice job. Both came out amazing.

I have a new black Cherokee to do next week. I hate doing black cars. Too many extra steps to get it just right for coating.

You saved those cars from a life of swirls and mars. At least until they take it to the dealer for a Free car wash!
 
Thats one hell of a favor to do someone-- hope he is doing ALL of the labor on the roll cage for you as a favor-- as your his detail guy
