1Z PP and linear scratches

Okay I have been reading like crazy on here. Anyway ordered some 1Z polishes(MP, PP, GW) and tried them out on my car today. I am highly impressed with these products as they left a nice gloss on the car. Anyway I was outside doing some interior work and decided to look at some of the areas I went over with the PP. I had microscratches in my hood that were not too visible in sunlight, but definitley noticeable under halogen.

First I went over a small area with MP with a foam applicator. After a couple of passes I noticed it was not touching the scratches. So I decided to go on the the PP. Most of the scratches were removed. Although I am now noticing linear scratches in my paint. Should I have followed up with MP after I applied the PP?

I have a PC and it looks like I will have to break it out now. So far I have been practicing on a relatives car.

Yes, I would go back down and finish off with the MP. See how that works out for you. Also, perhaps try polishing with a mf (by hand)

Yeah, depending on your paint and applicator and technique, the PP can sometimes leave stuff like that. Not too common, but it does happen. Always be sure to work the PP long enough to fully break down its abrasives. This is a lot easier by PC than it is by hand.

The MP will almost certainly remove the marring caused by the MP. If it doesn't, it means you didn't break down the PP enough, so in that case, go back over it with the PP/PC/polishing pad and then go to the MP.

Don't use too much polish, it can make it tough to a) break it down and b) know when you *have* broken it down.

Thanks everyone for your input. In a panic I went over those areas with MP and it removed all the linear scratches. Followed up again with GW and everything was okay.
