1Z Perls Gloss Shampoo

I enjoy trying new car washes fairly often. I think it adds a little fun to a weekly activity. As we all know there are many different car washes on the market and each has their own characteristics. Today I tried 1Z Einszett Perls Gloss Shampoo for the first time.
Description from ACC:
As you wash, Perls coats your car with a micro-thin protective coating that improves gloss and creates a barrier of protection that lasts for several weeks. Perls Shampoo produces depth and gloss that is unmatched.
Just one use and you'll know why they named it "Perls." This shampoo creates beautiful water beads that look like pearls! We are not aware of any other shampoo with the same level of performance.
I used Perls on my truck this morning. It had been a couple weeks since I washed my truck but for the most part it was just dusty. It had rained earlier this week so there was some dirt that the tires slug up but other than that it wasn't too bad. I started detailing it a couple weeks ago but I knew I wouldn't have time to do it all at one time so I focused on the bed and left the rest to do later. When I prerinsed the truck this morning I saw that the hood and roof showed no beading. Last time I washed the truck I could tell that the protection was almost gone.

I filled my wash bucket 3/4 full and added Perls car wash as instructed on the label. I sprayed a blast of water into the bucket to activate the suds and dropped my wool wash mitt in to allow some soaking time. When I started washing the truck I started with the hood and I noticed right away that this soap doesn't suds as much as most of my others yet it felt really slick as the mitt glided across the paint. After finishing the hood and roof I noticed that the water really beaded up just like it would if I had waxed or sealed the paint. I was pretty impressed. The soap rinsed cleanly and didn't leave any residue behind. After I completed washing the truck I flooded the panels to help remove as much water as possible before drying with a towel. Very little water was left and it didn't take very long to fully dry the truck.

Right off I noticed that the finish looks very glossy and my father mentioned how shiny the truck looked when he saw it.

Conclusion:

Overall I am very happy with 1Z Perls. While some may not like the low sudsing action of this soapcompared to others but it didn't bother me since it had great lubricity. I think it is one of the slickest feeling soaps I've used. I do believe it left some protection behind based on the water beading. It offered good cleaning ability also. The gloss it left behind was very nice and is absolutely noticeable. Being the first 1Z product I've tried I have to say I'm very happy and will be trying more of their products.

I didn't have time to take any pictures since I working against the sun. I had to finish before I lost my shade. I will try to get some pictures the next time I use it and do a 50/50 shot on a panel to show the beading that the soap provides.

Gear review. I was never really a fan of the original 1z Perls. I have always been a ""suds" kinda guy. I may have to give this a try though.

I may need to try Perls based on your review. I will admit that when I first really got into washing cars I wanted lots of suds. But after using ONR and others rinseless washes I see that suds are nothing more than superficial. So I may really like Perls.

When I used Perls I was thinking about ONR and how I would have never used a soap that didn't have much suds before ONR. I think products like ONR really changed the way I look at things.

I have a half bottle left and been along time for me. With so many washes to use I got to use this old friend soon. Thanks you for your review.

1Z Perls is one of my FAVORITE shampoos of all time. To me it is a blend of a wash and a rinseless wash. It rinses away clean and leaves a noticable increase in shine and protection. The water beads like crazy for about a week after using. Thanks for the review, in my findings, I agree with every point you made,.

We had a storm come through last night and when I looked outside the water was beading up like crazy. The beading almost looked as good as the part that has Blackfire on it.

Washing with 1z Perls is like washing with ONR with the 2 bucket method.

I have not used it in 2 years but recall that it does require wiping down well (not sure how a MB would dry it) since I got streaks on glass. I was not sure that was part of the lubricity or the added shine.

I have actually played around with ONR & Meg's D114 Rinse Free Express Wash in a 2BM. It actually seemed to work well. The Meg's D114 worked better but I think that is due to the lack of polymers.

I have entered a faze in which I am preferring soaps with minimal or no gloss enhances. I think the gloss enhancers leave a film that messes with your LSP and can actually attract dust and dirt instead of repelling like most of the LSP's I use now.
