I had a couple "glass" issues lately:
1. My windshield has some water spots from sitting in the rain and having it bake when the sun comes out. At some point this was lightly acid etched I suppose. I noticed this mainly when the glass was wet and the wipers went by. It left a "shadow" of the water spot. It just bugged me. Claying did not remove it. I suppose I could have buffed it off with a light swirl remover but I tried this polish first.
2. The wipers were beginning to chatter. It was just annoying. And that is what bugged me the most. I generally don't like using RainX type additives or coatings because they wear off and are temporary fixes.
I bought some Einzette Glas Polish and for speed, used my orbital buffer for application. It is a blue-ish, liquid the consistancy of milk that is most certainly slightly abrasive although you couldn't feel it. It applied fast, hazed up within 5 minutes and produced a white residue. I avoided getting it on black trim so I don't know if it would stain or not like waxes do. I suspect it would. It wipes off "extremely" easy. It left the glass VERY slick and smooth. It had a noticibly slicker feeling than untreated glass so it obviously leaves some level of protection combined with some good cleaning capabilities. I spent about 15 minutes on the windshield to be thorough.
It should be noted that I performed this application on two of my cars, my S4 and my Mini Cooper S, both daily drivers, over two weeks ago. It has been raining on almost a daily basis for a solid week now and I am really happy with this product. The Glas Polish has stopped the chattering wipers and creates a RainX-type effect where droplets of water just race off the glass when you are driving at speed. Fun to watch!
I bought the Glas Polish a while ago because it was cheap ($4.95) and I tagged it along with another order and just stuck it in the cabinet. Glad I did. If you are a RainX user or have issues like me, give this a shot. It's impressive how clear it made the windscreen. :up
