1st time impression on 4" pad w/pc

Hello all, I used the 4" white pad from CMA with PC 7424 just last weekend for the first time. I was correcting some scratches on a neighbors 350Z rear caused by him holding keys while opening rear hatch. Using 3 applications of Menzerna FPII, the scratches were 80-85% gone. I could have polished out more; however, I decided to stop and just followup with glaze and seal also from Menzerna lineup. After glaze and seal, the scratches are 90-95% gone and not noticeable at all at 6' distance. Overall, I am very impressed with the 4" pad and I am happily surprised how effective they are. I don't think I could have got them out using 6.5" pads without using reverting to an orange or yellow and IP. I also found the 4" pad to be ergonomically easier to use than 6.5" for correction. Now I am shopping for better sealants as Menzerna FMJ seems to be getting chunks in it. After calling CMA, they said that it is normal for FMJ and many people complain about it the same thing. Those that have tried Blackfire and FMJ, what do notice as the difference?

Glad to hear the smaller pad worked so well.

I haven't tried FMJ, but BF darkens paint a bit and looks pretty carnauba-like. I quit using it in favor of UPP though, and never found it (BF) all that user-friendly. Plenty of other people love it though...

I do like BF for, of all things, flat/satin/semi-gloss black parts on the undercarriage and in the engine compartment...the kind of surfaces that are often in awful condition. For some reason it spruces these surfaces up better than the other products I've tried :nixweiss

I used the blackfire S.R.C. compound with 4" orange pad this weekend to get some pretty bad scratches out via PC and it worked great. I then finished off with a paint sealant

I bought few of the LC CCS 4" pads.. Thanks to Accumulator advice ;) It works pretty good I gotta say. Esp on those tight smaller spots(ABC pilars area)
