1st Detail Need Avice

I'm planning on detailing my truck next week for the 1st time. It's been a while since I've even washed the truck. I would say at least a month or two :nono I have a new PC that I'm going to use on the truck along with my tropi-care products. Here's what I'm planning on doing and please tell me where you feel I need to make some changes

Plans:

1) Wash the truck with tropi-care car wash to get all the dirt, tar & bugs off.

2) Clay bar with tropi-care clay bar

3) Use tropi-care swirl cutter with yellow tropi-care pad

4) Polish using black tropi-care pad and tropi-care polish

Is there anything else I should use or add to the process. I'm new to detailing so please bear with me. I've had someone detail my car for a while now so I've picked up on a little but not a whole lot. Oh the truck is white if that makes a difference and I drive it daily. It gets put on the back burner because of my toy :grinno:

After a months worth of contaminats, you might want to wash twice. Other then that, you've got a solid process. What are you planning on using for an LSP? You might want to look for something with good durability.

Well I was thinking about all the dirt too. I figured I would detail it on Saturday so Friday when I got home I would go ahead and wash the truck up and give it a real good cleaning. Saturday the truck would get another good wash to just get what I might have missed Friday and then start claying it.

LSP? I haven't decided what to use but I was thinking about something like PS21. Any suggestions? I was also wondering if there was anything I could use to help hide any small scratches or swirls that I can't get out. I thought about using a glaze but I was worried that the Tropicare would take the glaze off if it has some cleaning ability. Or should I not use a glaze at all and just get a good topper to go on last after the Tropicare polish? Just looking at all the choices makes me even more confused

I think your system sounds good. I've never used a glaze, so I can't say anything regarding it, but for an LSP, I really like Meg's #26 paste. Its application and removal are easy and it has great durability.

If you decided to use a glaze, you would apply it after all your polishing is complete. Glazes help to hide minor imperfections and can enhance the depth and gloss of your finish. The first time I used a glaze was on the black hood of an RSX I had just finished polishing. I went over half of it with the glaze then compared. The glazed side was noticably "blacker" and my reflection was clearer. I was very impressed.

If you choose to glaze, you can apply a sealant or carnauba wax or both over top. P21s is a great wax! Good luck!

Ok so if I use a glaze I would need to apply it before or after the tropicare polish? I know tropicare lists the polish as a polish/sealant but I don't know if it is a polish or more of a sealer
