Had the opportunity to get my hands on this one owner 19k mile 2002 Camaro SS. This car brings me back to the times that I owned a twin to this car pretty much. The interior still smelled new and the engine bay besides being a little dusty still has the factory chalk markings etc.

The paint on the other hand definitely needs some love. It has been stored indoors to my knowledge but I there are a few dings and chips that will need proper repair in the future.

The plan was to perform a nice 2 step correction and apply IGL Poly 1 year coating.

Prep/Wash

Foamed with Hyper wash, 2BM, nanoskin handy towel

Wheels/Tires

Mckees foaming wheel cleaner gel, LATA, hyper dressing, chrome polished with Mckees RV metal polish

Engine bay

Foamed with AMMO Frothe, lightly dressed with hyper dressing

Correction

Rupes 21/Adams swirl killer mini. Rupes NEW BLUE COARSE WOOL pads, M100.

Finish polishing- Rupes 21, Rupes yellow pad, Hyper polish. Then I did a light follow up with my PC7424, Rupes white pad and Menzerna SF3800 to knock out the last tiny bit of micro marring.

Let me talk about the blue Rupes wool pads. This is the 3rd black vehicle I have done with them and these things rock. Cut is great, they blow out nicely. My only issue is when used with the 21mm the edge of the foam get torn up pretty good. Thinking they may need a little denser foam. Kinda the same issue a lot of people have with microfiber pads.

LSP- IGL Poly 1 year coating

Interior- wiped down with Mckees fast interior detailer.

Wow, over the years that paint sure has seen some, um... interaction? Great turnaround! I swear there`s nothing more rewarding than bringing black back. :)

Coworker of mine had another match to that car - I remember it was an `02, low miles, but this was probably 8-10 years ago. Fun car!

Thanks bud. Yeah I was kinda shocked at how bad the paint was for the miles. I`ve had a few of these cars and just something always draws me to them when I get to work on one. Miss my last one.

about as good as you can make a catfish look, I guess

nice job

That’s how black should look ! Nice save.

Thanks Jeff!

Looks great!! There isn`t a better color to show the quality of your work.

Thanks bud. Agree with you on that. Something about a nice corrected black vehicle.

Great work and results on that F body!

Thanks Scott.

Amazing work! Looks like glass.

Thanks bud. Not bad at all. Unfortunately there`s a few things that aren`t repairable but much better than before.
