I think you can see here how deep some of the defects where:

I started out by giving the car a QEW wash, then I clayed with Zaino claybar and Z6 mixed 50/50 w/ distilled water for the lube.

I started with:

Yellow wool/3M ECC polish/Hitachi 1700 x2

Green wool/Presta 1500/Metabo 1500

3M blue foam/Ultrafina/Metabo 1500

This removed about 75-80% of the defects.

So I stepped up to:

Black wool/Strada 1000 polish/Hitachi 1800 x2

Green wool/SIP/Metabo 1500

3M blue foam/Ultrafina/Metabo 1500

This removed at least 85% of the defects. Some of the RIDS where very deep.

The rear deck area and hood got the black wool combo.

The rest of the car got the yellow wool combo.

SIP vs Presta 1500:

I tried SIP to see if it would get out more of the deeper defects then the Presta 1500 was. It seemed to be slightly better. I can get presta 1500 for under $35-40 a gallon shipped vs $50 for a quart of SIP.

I talked to Ryan about the deeper defects and he says that sometimes you need the heat of a heavy cut foam pad to get the deeper defects 100% out on the hard vette clear. So I will put some yellow LC foam back in my pad container.

The client was very happy with the car, he asked me if I was and I told him I am about 85% happy and wish I could of got it 100%.

When I took the car out into the sun for the after polish washing, I did notice some holograms on the lower side panels. I do not know if I just got tired at the end of 10 hours of polishing or what. I cleaned that up with ZPC/white LC CCS pad/PC.

Tires and wells where cleaned with AM Red Hot APC. Wheels got PB SnR wheel cleaner. Everything rinsed with pressure washer.

I then applied 3x of Z5pro with ZFX and Z8. Tires got some Z-16 and wheels ZAIO.

Here are some finals:

Now for something on the "easy" side. :)

Porsche Cayenne S in Prosecco Metallic

Not sure of the year, but it had approx 50k miles.

Exterior only as well.

Sorry no before pics, but it was very dirty and had some tree sap or something on the hood and drivers door/window.

I washed with Z7 in the foam lance, cleaned the wheels with P21S wheel cleaning gel and a few brushes. Tires and wells got cleaned with AM Red Hot APC and brushes.

I clayed with Zaino clay and a 50/50 mix of Z6 and distilled water. Took a while on the areas that had the tree sap spots.

I then gave the paint a light polish with:

Zaino ZPC polish/White CCS pad/Metabo 1500

The paint still had alot of dirt in it as I would clean pads every other panel with the system 2k pad cleaner.

I wiped off all of the ZPC residue with a spritz of Z6 on each panel.

I applied 2 coats of ZFX'd Z5pro and 1 coat of Z2pro (no ZFX) on paint/glass.

I followed with some Z8 on the paint/glass.

Tires got Z-16 and wheels got ZAIO.

Great work as usual. Your knowledge and skill never ceases to amaze.

Thanks weekendwarrior! If it was not for network of detailers I met thru this site and others, a correction like this would take many days for me.

gmblack3a- Great work, especially the way you figured out just the right combos :xyxthumbs

Thanks Accumulator! All I need is the Abralon system and a phat compressor in the back of my truck. I could see the clients face when I ask where the 220 outlet is.

Thanks Ram!

Bryan, great job on both. That vette is liquid black!

You are really covering the southeast!

I must say, that Porsche is the most "soccer mom" looking Porsche I have ever seen!
