My folks were away visiting relatives so I thought it would be a nice surprise to drive on over and detail one of their cars. Turns out it was my dad's daily driver a 1998 Volvo S70 that was left behind. From a distance, the paint looks in decent condition but on close inspection, there are littlerally thousands of paint chips (he commutes on the GSP everyday) and lots of swirls and scratchs. There wasn't much I could do with the chips, but after a GC Wash and Clay, I hit the swirls with some DACP and a yellow pad. I think I got most of them out, but it was extremely overcast and hard to see them. I was planning on going the GEPC and S100 route, but rain was eminent, I was short on time, plus my dad will never keep up with the washing, so I decided to go straight to some Einszett Glanz for it's ease of use and durability.
So, here are some before and after pics. Sorry for the low quality, but it was really overcast and I haven't figured out how too take good pics in low light levels.
I think it came out pretty good, hopefully my dad will too!!
