I did this one about a month ago.

Client just bought the truck for his son. He wanted the paint cleaned up and a good sealant. He also requested that I remove the pin stripes. I really did not want to mess with the pin stripes, but the thought of his son have to drive around with the Miami Vice look worried me. :nervous2:

Nasty! :grrr

I pre treated all the lower panels with red hot APC 1:1. I then foamed with a mixture of Chem guys citrus wash, 2 shots of red hot and some Z7 in about 20oz of water.

I then scrubbed all the painted surfaces with the bug sponge. Pressure washed off and then a 2 bucket wash with Chem guys citrus wash and 4 hits of red hot in the wash bucket. I used an old MF mitt to wash.

I think most of the dirt is baked on the surface. I then clayed and that removed more of the dirt on the areas I rubbed really hard. The claybar did not pickup that much as I am sure the bug sponge got rid of just about everything, except for the "deep dirt"

Here is what it looks like after all that:

Got thing I have some old wool pads that are on their last leg.

Here is the hood after:

Yellow wool/Strada 1000/Metabo 1600

Green wool/P1500/Metabo 1500

White CCS/FPII/Metabo 1500

All that work and a crappy pic:

Then I did part of the pass. door with:

Green wool/P1500/Metabo 1500. Seems like that will do the trick!

I then started to think that the client's son is not going to be happy with the stripes on the truck.

I called the local Sherwin williams auto paint store and they had a wheel to remove the stripes with. The arbor on the decal removal wheel was a 5/16" and my air drill has a 1/4" chuck. So I had to use my 18v cordless Dewalt, good thing I have 3 batteries. A battery would last about 5 mins max with the pressure I was applying to remove the stripes. So this was consuming some time. This is a nasty job, wear a dust mask. I also did it outside and it happened to be 35° out that day. I knew that old ski jacket would come in handy one day. I finally got the stripes done and wiped down the leftover adhesive with 3M adhesive remover.

I polished over the areas where the stripes where with:

Yellow wool/Strada 1000/Metabo 1600

Green wool/P1500/Metabo 1500

While the batteries where charging. I vac'd the intetior, extracted the matts with my Mytee HP60. The interior was looking pretty bad, so I decided to go over the rest of the interior with the mytee. The owner did not request it, but I wanted to see how the mytee would do with just a few passes.

I pretreated the seats with and Ultra pac and used dry slurry in the extractor. Matts and carpet got spot treated with citrus solv and ultra pac and DS in the extractor.

Not 100% perfect, but much better.

I then finished the polishing with Green wool/P1500/Metabo 1500 and then ZPC on a white CCS pad and 1500 on the metabo.

I revac'd the interior, cleaned the glass and give the other areas a wipedown with IZ CP. A few areas with heavy grim got a APC 1:10 wipedown first.

The exterior got 3x of ZFX'd Z2pro and Z8.

Tires got Z-16.

What a turnaround Bryan. Awesome job. I am sure the owner was blown away especially with the stripes removed. It looks like a new truck. How many hours did you finally put into it?

That is ...absolutely stunning for a car with 200k+ miles. The dirt was actually chemically bonded with the paint! That white was more brown even after all the washing. The extractor also did an amazing job.

One of the most 'work' related C&B I have seen in a while. All those steps, hope you got at least 600$ or more for that job!

That may be one of the nastiest center armrests I have ever seen. Great job.

Thanks w/e warrior! I can not argue your thoughts on the armrest.

Thanks Pat! Those stripes took about 4 hours of total time. So I had about 10 hours into it.

Thank you Ian! I would of liked to try out the ABC system on something like this. Should have that arriving in a week or so.

All i did was :soscared: when isaw this one, my hat is off to you Bryan for a awesome turnaround on this Toyota! ..........:usa

Good gosh, you really raised the value of that truck. Plus now your skin doesn't crawl when you look at it. My favorite kind of detail. Outstanding job. :bow

What kind of wheel did you have to use for the stripes? I have a buddy of mine is getting a truck 100% like that one, and I want to get the stripes off.

Detail looks great!

Man, that's an awesome improvement! Escpecially losing the stripe. Truck was definitely worked, that interior was horrifying. What did the client say when he got it back?

Thanks Brandon! I can't remember the name of it. I went to the sherwin williams auto paint supply store and asked for a decal removal wheel. It was like $11. One will last for this job.

Thanks DTR! He was very happy!

Unbelievable work Bryan! :bigups

It went from looking like a 213K mile truck to looking like a 13K mile truck

The truck looks like it is in pretty good shape under all of that dirt. Usually those trucks get pretty rusted out. It looks like a totally different truck now that you've worked your magic on it.

Nice save!!

The same level of attention given to this truck as you do a F430...that to me is a "pro".

Well done indeed Bryan. :xyxthumbs

Way to bring that truck back to life. We have the same truck (in 2wd) for our work truck with 170K or so on it. It's got that same ridiculous stripe.
