1996 Corolla Extreme Detail

Detail time!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend! Wee I just finished up detailing a 1996 Corolla with 184,000 miles on it. Well the car sure showed it! I split this up over 2 days which was about 5 hours total. Just a warning- some pictures below may cause damage to some detailer's eyes.

Before Pictures:
Not so bad right??

I take it these are the before pics???? This car is in much need of a little
love. The 184000 moles is typical of a Toyota. It should last much longer if taken care of.

Process:
Wash
Clay
Optimum Hyper Compound- Rotary 1200-1500 RPMs, Orange cut pad
Optimum Polish- Rotary- 1200-1500, Polishing Pad
Wolfgang Sealant

After the OHC side by side

The results are much better than before. I wasn't getting paid to remove the swirls, just to make it look better. I wanted to go further but I spent enough time on it as is. Natural look on interior surfaces and HT grape dressing on tires. Hope you enjoy the pictures! Questions/ comments?

Looks great. It actually almost looks like an entirely different color. I'm sure the owner was more than pleased.

That shot of the "C" pillar you titled "clear coat failure" is actually a result of a poor blend from a previous repair. That is the spot the shop stopped spraying clear paint when they shot the quarter panel.

Awesome. This is the one drawback I have working on relatively new cars most of the time... they're just not in THAT bad a shape that when they're done they look completely transformed. I'm going to have to park my wifes car outside for a few months and not touch it :)

Wow simply amazing. I love seeing these threads. What was the owners response or did he not even notice that the swirls were gone cause he never knew they were there in the first place.

I was thinking that too- thanks for clearing that up.

I actually haven't heard from the owner yet. She was gone for the weekend so I just did a pick up and drop off when I was finished. I'm sure she'll be surprised though :). I enjoyed this detail solely because of the results that can be had. As said above, I could have gone further on the car but it just wouldn't have been worth it. 1- The age and mileage of the car, 2- it's a Corolla; if it was a Vette or something thats a different story and 3- In a few months it'll probably be back to a bad condition. Either way it was fun and gave me more time with the rotary. Thanks for the comments!

Were you able to hide it for her by buffing? It is possible to minimize the visiblity, you would actually need reducer to make it dissapear.

GREAT JOB, now that its clean maybe you can ask them to keep the windows closed when its not being driven.. that interior was just uncalled for. hard to put your love into something like that hey?

How did you remove the brown on the hubcaps. On some old cars I can't get it off? It seems to be burned in the plastic.
