Hi guys. My first C&B. I don't have any process pics.
The story:
I bought this 1993 Bentley Brooklands at a Mecum auction last year. It's the long wheelbase version, which is fairly rare. I don't think anyone at the auction knew that, and it wasn't advertised, so the pricing on it was decent given the LWB cars usually trade for a slight premium.
Paint was pretty thrashed with scratches/swirls. And Mecum's hacks had buffed through the single-stage black on the tops of the door to boot. So, I've been working on it ever since. And I did some mechanical work as well. Car is great now.
The bottom areas of the car are like a slate grey coated with rock guard; and front spoiler is a matte black - I'm thinking of painting all those areas body color. Also, I'm looking at changing from these 15 inch wheels to a very sedate 18" that will fit the car's styling.
Recent detail:
ONRWW Wash w/ Race Glaze Mitt
Optimum Hyper Polish - CCS Orange Pad
Optimum GPS - CCS Orange, some areas CCS White (and I stayed AWAY from those door tops)
Optimum Opti-Seal Sealant
Aqua Wax Spray Wax
FK425
Touched up the buff-through areas....
Wheels:
Duragloss Orange MPC
Optimum Opti-clean
Optimum Opti-Bond on the tires (2x)
The car still has some minor RIDS in places, but without a paint gauge, and knowing that it's been aggressively buffed, I've been reluctant to hit it too hard. Any thoughts/suggestions would be great!
I'll get some more shots, including engine and interior, in the future and add them to this thread.
