Did the lady friend's GS-R today. This car had basically never seen polishing EVER, in it's entire 15 year life. It had a TON of swirling and marring as you can imagine. Some of my habits had rubbed off on her, and I basically take care of the cars apperance now. So I finally got around to working on her car and removing all the swirling, and she helped on the interior. Process looked like so:

I didnt' get any interior before pics. sry just an after. The pics didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, and dont' really show the transformation as it really was. But here they are anyway.

Exterior:

- Wash via DP Xtreme Foam & Foamgun

-APC on Rims/Wheels

-Pinnacle Poly Clay

-PC7424 w/ Menzerna Powergloss

-PC7424 w/ Optimum Polish

-Topped w/ Meguiers #16

-Megs Endurance on Tires

-Stoners Trim dress on trim

-AA in fenders

-Stoners IG on Glass

Interior:

-Was completely removed from the car

-Woolite Mix on all interior Seats w/ LGCM & Shark Hi-Temp Steamer

-Optimum Protectant on all Vinyl Surfaces

-Stoners IG on all interior glass

Again sry about the lack of good photography here, the transformation was remarkable! I would say I was able to achieve about 90%+ correction. There were still some deep scratches etc and some other defects I wasnt' quite able to get out.

I also started out by giving the rotary another try but wasn't having much luck with it. So I'll have to give it some more practice on a crappy hood.

Total Time: 10 hrs

Congrats on a completion well done.....

Wow rare gsr hard to come, especially in good condition, now the value went up on that car right off the bat...

any dull/faded spots.....

i must say from the first pic all the way thru the end the car was smiling big time and whistling @ the same time...

two thumbs up for taking care of her(Gsr)...

any problems with powergloss gumming up on you..

Nice turnaround. Down here it's near impossible to find integras, let alone GSR's in that pristine of a conditon. Excellent work!

She's got about 250,000 Km....so roughly 140,000 MILES.. This is litterly BONE STOCK too except for an airmass header and catback exhaust. It's treated her very well as a daily driver. She does her best to take care of it to her level, but it's in really good hands now :) It's definitly hard to find a 2nd gen GS-R that's unmolested.

AND YES I had problems with the powergloss gumming up on me. I was a little baffeled by this. I would spritz it with QD to help, but it was defintily fighting me the entire time...Any ideas? Usually I hit it with OHC, but I wanted something with a little more bite, so thought I'd try the powergloss I'd bought some time ago and hadn't got around to using yet. It worked, but was significantly harder to use than the OHC.

Nevermind my question.... I should read the "whole thing" befor posting.... Good job anyway and thanks for answering my question :LOLOL

Hehe my girlfriend was floored by the results, and was very very grateful :)

I really enjoyed actually being able to work her car just the two of us, someone to enjoy my addiction with! She actually ended up doing most of the interior work, I mostly showed her how to get started and gave her direction and she did most of the work! I've got an apprentice fellas!

ive had the same problems. I have used 4" pads with powergloss on spots with good success.

Hmm...Im using 6.5" Excel Erasure pads and a Makita 9227C. It gummed up on me pretty quick, tried spritzing it with QD and it helped a little. I then switched over to the PC using LC 6.5" pads and had the same problem although not quite as bad. I guess I'll have to do a little more experimentation with it...
