1989 DINAN BMW 535i Turbo

I have been on here so long and never posted in this section so here is my first go. This car was a diamond in the rough, a very very rare Dinan built BMW 535i Turbo. It was for sale 4 miles from my house and the guy thought it was a regular 535i, and that the turbo was stock... Well it is far from stock with 0-60 in 5 seconds flat, 330 HP, .091g skidpad, faster than an M5, etc... Not to mention it cost $65K+ new. Well I got it for $ 1500 :getdown It was HEAVILY OXIDIZED! It is not perfect but still a night and day difference!

Lookin' good. Did you try anything on the plastic trim on the front and sides? could just be the light difference. Either way, great find on a neat car!

Sweet ride man. Id order some Poorboys Trim restore and hit those moldings to make them look good as new.

Nice Job

Ya I definitely need some for the grill, lower, and tidbits... This was a quicky job so it didnt hurt my eyes looking a faded pink color in the garage. :waxing:

-I still need to do the engine, doorjams, interior, etc.

It doesn't run, it HAULS ***:) Haha ya just needs new tires, exhaust midpipe, and some capacitors in the dash cluster fixed. But once you get in the boost it flat out moves!

Thanks, totally by chance... I was actually looking for a BMW K75s motorcycle to buy. I just drove by this and decided to take a closer look. Once I knew what it was I couldn't believe it. The guy I bought it from took it in trade on some work he did and thought it was just a regular 5 series, he never registered it and just took it to sell. Lucky Me!

Holy crap! :bow

Not only did you luck out on finding the car but what you did to the paint...simply amazing! :)

A comment like that from THE "SCOTTWAX"... I am honored sir!

Awesome job! Awesome price! Awesome car!

The wheels look like Borbet Type A's. They are old school but look very good on that car.

You better smoke those tires if it needs new ones. :spot

Awesome job and I'll follow the herd and say great find as well! How many miles? I would ditch the rims tho, they look ghetto-fabulous :)

A lot of guys paint that lower trim to match the body and it looks great or you can get an aftermarket body kit to elminate all that black rubber on the side skirts and front and rear valences.

It has the "chip guard" coating on the lowers, I think it was applied when the car was repainted several years ago. The rims are Borbet Type A's 18" and I believe original with the DINAN package so they are staying and most likely getting refinished. I may get some stockers though for the sleeper look:)

Are you sleeping well after stealing this Bimmer? You done good!! It seems to me that there is some real money to be made after you are done with all the corrections...paint and otherwise. Should you decide to seek collectors and sell this little gem you might be able to pay off a bunch of bills!

OR drive it like you stole it!
