So a long time friend of mine loves Mustangs. And loves buying, fixing them up and flipping them. So his recent purchase this summer was this 1988 Saleen Mustang #556. What makes this car special is the black paint with tan interior and instead of the usual gold spoke wheels this car has gold 5 spoke wheels making it 1 of 17 in this combo. The car has roughly 60k on the clock and the interior is near mint! Upon purchasing the car the paint needed some much needed love. So he decided to have another friend do a repaint on it to get it up to standards. The original plan was to have me do the final correction work and coating. \
Shortly after having the repaint done it was discovered he had a detached retina that was a complication due to his diabetes. So things were going to be put on the back burner due to financial reasons. When I found that out I couldn`t let this go and decided to pay it forward and take care of the car and consider it a get well soon gift/wedding gift as he is getting married soon.
So onto the car. Upon arrival the usual holograms etc were present from the painter doing the initial wetsanding and compounding.
Prep
Waterless wash with N914. No claying was needed.
Wheels/tires
Wiped with N914 and tires got Mckees gloss tire gel
Correction
PC7424, Adams swirl killer mini. I found with this clear the PC was finishing out the best rather than my G21. M205 on a Boss microfiber cutting pad took care of the majority of defects. M100 was used for some remaining sanding marks. Finish polishing was handled with the PC, Rupes white pad and Hyper Polish
