1969 Mustang Mach 1

This car was restored at a body shop/restoration center. The job they did with the paint was sub-par for a classic like this. There are sanding marks in the primer throughout the entire car. The roof was especially bad. There was a good amount of sanding marks left from the wet sand and buff, plus several burn through areas. Also, the flat black on the hood was not sprayed evenly. There are spots where it was darker than other areas.

I pointed everything out to the customer prior to doing the job. He was aware of some of the issues, but not all. Especially the burn through areas. Which I documented.

The goal of this detail was to spot wet sand a few areas that had orange and deeper scratches. Then a full compound and polish.

And the afters - Going to apologize it was a rainy day so no real sun shots. I had to wait for the rain to slow to get the car out of the garage so I could even get the pics. You'll notice some rain drops in the pics.

Thanks Mike! I had a total of about 17 hours into. 3 hours longer than I quoted/expected. But he's suppose to have me compound and polish his Dodge Viper and 68 Camaro.

I love those cars! You did a great job of returning it to the glory it deserves. And nice documentation on the products you used too and taping everything off. Nice to know you're still a fan of PowerGloss.

Thanks! In all honesty I prefer M105 over PowerGloss. But I was out of M105 and didn't check that before I arrived, so PowerGloss it was. It worked great though.

Man - got a little misty eyed there, you see, back in the day, my cousin got a car exactly like that, his folks were Ford people. Me? I got a 1972 Z-28, cause Dad was a GM man! Anyway, it was

the summer of 1975 and neither of us would keep our cars long. He wrapped the asre end around a telephone pole (and walked away!), I sold mine before I did the same.

We both got crap after that, Ford LTD and Pontiac Ventura.......puke!
