My favourite car. My favourite detail.

This car has been in our family for a few years so I decided to post up a spring detail on it for once, as it rates as perhaps my favourite detail to date :) This car is one of the prettiest ever made IMHO, and puts all modern supercars to shame. Its a great drive, turns heads everywhere and just does it for me - I dont care what anyone else says...

The Objective

Todays detail is to get it ready for the classic car season, and the aim was simply to maximise the gloss and looks of the car, without any abrasive polishing. The paint isnt perfect, but its not a concours car and preservation is more important than a few paint defects.

The Process

  1. ONR wash
  2. BH Surfex 10% on the wheels, rinsed with ONR
  3. P21s Paint Cleaner by hand to all paint and chrome
  4. 2 layers of Dodo Supernatural to all paint and chrome - lovely to use
  5. Glass with AG Fast Glass
  6. Wheels and hub caps sealed with FK1000
  7. Tyres & Tonneau Cover with FK108
  8. Drive it...

Awesome car !!! Very nice detail !!! A customer of mine has a extensive collection of British roadsters, and I love his old MGs, Austin Healeys, and Morgans.

Your car is simply stunning !!!

@BigPikle:

No need to defend your affection for that MGA. It is truly a beautiful, timeless design. It is nice to see survivors like that.

thanks all - glad you appreciate her as much as I do :)

3 60's MG's in our family - '66 BGT, my '69 BGT in the pic and the MGA. We kind of have a bit of a thing for them... :lol

Now that is awsome. I always have to appreciate a well detailed MG as a British car lover also. I want our Bugeye to look that nice.

Nice GT too.

Liking your Frogeye as well - got to love some of those 60's machines ;)

I love the GT's I've seen the one Tim Suddard has and I just like the style, more daily driver too. 69 was a good year for them.

Yeah, thanks and your right, got to love them! That's all i'm into, classic sports cars, preferrably Leyland BMC:woot2:
