1951 Mercury Baby Blue...

Clean Dean

Keep it clean !!!
Sorry no before pics, but I figured that I would show off the very interesting car after I completed the detail.

I spent 2 full days with this interesting 1951 Mercury Custom street rod known a “Baby Blue. Following a hand wash and clay the exterior needed a 2 step with Menzerna’s SIP PO 83 followed by Super Finish 106 FA. Hand waxed with Collinite’s Marque d’ Elegance.

All exterior chrome was hand polished with Speedy all metal polish.

Interior carpets and marine vinyl were steam cleaned with my new “toy the Eurosteam ES 1900. The vinyl cleaned up really well with Meguiars APC diluted 20:1 with the steam.

Engine was steam cleaned and all chrome polished with Speedy. Painted surfaces were waxed with Stoners Speed Bead.

I hope you enjoy the pics I really enjoyed detailing this interesting piece !!!

 car! The paint looks amazing!

On the other hand, a black primered rat rod version would look hot too...

...but bad for us! :LOLOL

Great work Dean!

I had a gentleman call me last week. He is getting the same car painted and wanted me to do the after paint wetsand and polishing at the shop where its getting painted. I figured it would take me at least a week to complete the job so I turned it down. The car has no motor in it so he could not bring it to me.

Thanks gents. I have always looked the lines of that body of this car. Someone near me has the same car in a deep metalic red, and I always see it passing on the road. I have never had the opportunity to see it up close :( .

Scottwax, Lets get some gloss on those ratrods !!!

I know the feeling. I was asked to do a wetsand on a repainted 91 Mercedes Benz 560 SEC approximately a year ago, and I think I put that job off indefenitely. Sometimes its just too much time too devote to just one car. Can be bad for business, if you losing other more profitable work while your stuck on a single project.

Thanks again guys !!!
