18 ft Chaparral SS-Spring Prep

Today I had the chance to prep my 18ft Chaparral SS for the summer before I put it in the water. I do this every time the boat is pulled from the water at the end of the summer and before it's put back in the water in the spring. It's amazing how regular maintenance can keep the boat looking it's best. After 12 years it still looks as good as it does when I got it.

Wash with Duragloss 901
Duragloss 501 via PC with Sonus White pad
Collonite 845
1Z Plastic and Vinyl Cleaner for interior
1Z Vinyl and Rubber Care for all seats and trim
Ultima Tire and Trim for the rub rail
Wiped down with Duragloss 921

One thing I was very impressed with is Collonite 845. Even after 8 months of storage the water was beading like crazy. I love this wax for the marine environment.

Looks good. Nice color combo. After growing up on a lake IMO 18ft is the perfect size for fun and ease to care of.

Pat it's a shame to store such a nice boat for 8 months... perhaps you should store it down in Florida in the winter so I can use and keep it loose for you.

Looks great!

Very nice boat, sir. You are right, regular maintenance keeps em looking their best. Better for guys like me that most people dont keep em up like you do.

Thanks for sharing!
