I was very excited to bring to you this next car as it is a favorite among many. This customer contacted me about reviving his 1997 15th Anniversary Toyota Supra, back to the condition all Supra's deserve to be in. So I packed up the NSX and headed down to Nashville. (I would like to apologize in advance as my good camera was dead when I got there, so I had to use a cheaper older camera)

This is the car when I arrived.

CCW 505's

With these CCW 505's being bare polished aluminum, a wheel cleaner that is pH balanced is very crucial. So for this car, I opted to use Sonax Full Effect. It is an amazing wheel cleaner and is safe for all types of wheels.

While letting the Sonax work on the brake dust, it will begin to turn a redish color to let you know that it working and reacting with the iron particles.

To agitate the brake dust, I used the 2in Wheel Woolie. It's nice and thin and gets deep into the wheels.

Next the car was foamed and washed using a 100% sheep skin wash mitt.

After that, the car was dried off and pulled in for claying and taping off the plastic trim.

For this car I used the Griot's 6in DA and LC Cyan pad with Megs M105 compound for the cutting stage and LC tang pad and M205 for polishing.

The next few pictures will be some 50/50 shots and before and after's.

Here you can notice the passenger headlight has been buffed and polished versus the driver side has not.

The taillights were just as bad as the paint and needed some attention too

After everything was polished, the paint was then sealed with one coat of Black Fire Wet Diamond.

By the time I finished up the car it was almost midnight and I couldn't take any final sun shots. I knew I had to get day time pictures for you guys, so a few days later, I called up a couple of photographers I knew in the area and arranged a photo shoot. I drove my NSX and one of the photographers drove his R33 Skyline and then of course we had the Supra there. So here are a few pics from the trip to the shoot and at the shoot. and Thanks to Brennan McKissick-Photography and Hurst Photography for coming out on such Short notice.

Bravo!

Before I sold my Supra the worst place to polish it up was the rear quarter panal and the hatch. It also sucked that it was single stage Ren Red and was softer than I expected.

Nice work! I have always had a soft spot for that model year Supra. I remember the "talk" that went on between 300Z, Supra, and 3000GT owners...good times

Great job, Eric! Always top-notch. That pic of all 3 cars gets me thinking...if someone were to offer me the key to one of the three, which would I choose?:nervous2:

Nice work Eric. The curves of the car really showed afterwards.

Great looking trio there and photography.

Supra for me (only choosing looks wise). The NSX looks ready for a dog fight! Tight.

Great work Eric. Congrats on the NSX pickup too I forgot to mention. What a crew of 3 of the most highly desirable tuner cars out there despite approaching "antique" lol. Thanks for sharing.

Eric, once again great work! Even with the older camera, it looks amazing. Great documentation and work. I really like the rolling shots on the freeway too.

Did u need to do anything extra to the front of the vehicle to get all the bug guts and crap off the nose or did claying take care of all of it?? When my car gets like that I can never get everything off the front end just with a simple wash...

Sick finish! What time did you start the gig that you finished at midnight??? That camera is doing something funny with the spot light-at first i thought you left major hazing in the paint. Those highway shots are beautiful !

Clay bar would do the job, perhaps upgrade your wax too after the fact so that removal of bugs/etc doesn't require a claybarring.

Nice job! I just sold my 95 TT and it was black also. Being it was the first car i've ever polished, the paint is extremely easy! Those pictures brought back a lot of good memories of how my car looked after a treatment.
