$150 Home Depot GC...

They carry a lot of random orbit SANDERS...and some stuff by the PC company...so you never know. I would go into your local store and just ask, can't hurt.

No go. I just went to the late night one near by. They have almost everything else PC makes, but not what I need. Oh well.

I do have a $50 GC from Lowe's. I'll try tomorrow.

I would ask if they could special order it. You never know they may be able to as they carry other PC tools. worth a shot man. Although I am sure you will have no problem blowing $150 at HD

I know my local home depot has a PC. At least I remember it having one. You can ask them to order it for you.

You can also get a DeWalt DW443. It is what I use. You can ask home depot to order it for you as they carry DeWalt tools.

I think it may depend on the store and how knowledgable the people are. I asked about the PC and everyone looked blank. A few months later, when I got my PC and was having trouble finding pads, I asked them if they can order the backing plate on it, and they said they couldn't, as it is not in their product line, so that they could not order any parts for it. :(

My local Home Depot will special order PC's. If you want to go the HD route, you should ask around (or call around):D

I have a brother who works at a HD here in Canada. They have a special order desk with a huge stack of catalogs. If you can find the tool in one of those books, they can order it.

When I was looking for a DeWalt DW849, I asked the people in the tool corral if they carry it. Nobody knew what I was talking about and one guy even showed me the "wen type" polishers.

I happened to find the special order desk, and i'll be damned if I didn't see the rotary on the wall behind the desk! I informed them that 20ft away, they do not know this product exists.

The moral to this story? The people who work there only know what is on the shelves. Go to the special orders desk!

I just picked one up at Lowe's. Had $50 GC, so it came to about $65 after tax.

Now, what are the best pads???

ahh the pads. I will tell you in my opinion I called the guys over at CMA. I got my PC from coastaltool and it came with the 6inch coutnerweight and the 6 inch hook and loom pad. If I were you I'd get these if you do not have them already. Then for the pads I got 3 white ones and 2 grey ones and a yellow pad.

I am going to order the scratch removeal kit form them at some point soon to work on some scratches that I noticed.

If you are going to be compounding you may want to get the wool pad as well it is the pad with the most cutting power and as I have been told it is the only pad you can do damage to your paint with. I guess it gnerates the most heat. Anyways there is lots of info on pads in here best advice I can say is to read what others have done and learn a bit more then make the order that suits what your going to be using them for.
